These cars are hauling ass compared to recent times. However, no cautions, so it's not anywhere close to unsafe. Hopefully NASCAR doesn't try to slow them down before next week.

Watching everyone travel in pairs is definitely a change. Most likely that won't work as well in the 500, as the cars tend to overheat when they do it for too long. Since it's pretty cold tonight, they are able to hold out a little longer even after NASCAR had everyone remove an air hose to try to avoid it.

NASCAR has said that the way the cars are running tonight is how they will run for the 500, so don't expect them to make any changes. They said they absolutely will not go to any smaller restrictor plates.
  • GoChiefs
Guess that's what I get for picking Jr. to win.

Thata boy Carl you fucking idiot.

I saw the thing about the restrictor plate, and they are running safely at these speeds for the most part (I know there was just a caution, but it was just your run of the mill wreck) so I applaud NASCAR for leaving the plate alone. They are still hoping that the warmer temperatures of a Sunday afternoon race will cause them to break off every few laps so they don't blow the cars up. They have said they really don't want the 2 car thing to go on for 200 straight laps, hence removing an air hose.

Nice driving by Hamlin to miss Bush.
  • Tiger2003
That was fucking crazy what Bush just did.
  • Tiger2003
    Thats fucking bullshit.
  • GoChiefs
HELL YEAH BABY! Great way to start out in the new car!

    Double Deuce with the win!

He beat Hamlin to the stripe regardless of the illegal pass.

They were side by side when Hamlin's tire touched the line.

Pairs of drivers all over Daytona Speedway.......not a fan. Just my opinion.

Been quite a few years since I watched Nascar. Few observations:

    1. I think all the cars just handed their sponsor to the guy on their right.
    2. Tony Stewart still punts cars into the wall.
    3. Michael Waltrip still finds the wall.
    4. Junior still sucks.
