Soooo....NASCAR, is it dead?

Hb31187Wouldnt NASCAR need to be alive in order for it to die in the first place?

Considering NASCAR was 3rd behind the NFL and MLB, and was the fastest growing sport in the country, yes, it was thriving quite nicely. -
Hb31187Lol it may have higher attendance than basketball due to large venues. But you're kidding yourself if you think Nascar is more popular than basketball

Why are you in this thread? Did you comes to make the EVER SO CLEVER comment that "HUR HURRRRR Wouldnt NASCAR need to be alive in order for it to die in the first place? LOZ!" or did you have a compelling argument to make beyond the empty claim that "But you're kidding yourself if you think Nascar is more popular than basketball" which coming from you has no basis in fact other than your meaningless opinion? -
Hb31187Lol you truly believe NASCAR is more popular in the united states than basketball? And insulting what someone said while adding Hur Hur and LOZ!...you seem to be oozing with intelligence yourself.

Might I suggest some reading comprehension? I didn't say NASCAR IS more popular than the NBA. I said NASCAR WAS more popular than the NBA. Popularity of a sport isn't just based on attendance. Its based on attendance, ratings, merchandise sales, etc. Like I said, for a few years it WAS behind the NFL and MLB. -

Does is and was truly confuse you that much? -
Hb31187Does "sport" and "NASCAR" confuse you that much?
-
GoChiefsAll you had to say was "I got nothing." We would have understood.

News flash, if you or the entire human race consider NASCAR "not a sport", it is merely stripping NASCAR of a meaningless tag that you seem to want to put a lot of stock into. Please write ESPN and have them promptly stop covering NASCAR since they seem to also be confused. -
Hb31187Just because ESPN covers something doesnt make it a sport... the spelling bee, poker, chess, NASCAR, ect. Sorry you were mistaken
-

Strategy, start, finish, winner, loser, athletes...yeah...I think that would make it a sport. You shouldn't comment on something you know nothing about. -
Hb31187Athletes? LOL
If you can compete in your "sport" like a week after major knee surgery like some driver did sometime recently....Athleticism isnt required -

NASCAR drivers are some of the most fit ATHLETES in the COUNTRY. If you dont think it takes athleticism to drive a car 200 mph for 4 hours, you are crazy.
And Denny Hamlin pushed himself to get back in that car, and trained his butt off to drive again. Its called hard work. But, seeing your avatar, I see you cheer for a sport, where a guy has "turf toe" and has to ride the pine for three weeks. But, thats a REAL athlete, right? -
Hb31187Yeah you're right Pro football players are less athletic than race car drivers...man this is golden
-

I didnt say LESS. But, NASCAR dont have 400# drivers either. Or pit crew men. -

Just because you're a douchebag doesn't mean your posting rights should be revoked. -

Thank you for proving my point yet again about being clueless. Wait, if racing a car is so easy, why the hell aren't you doing it? I mean, you would be an idiot not to do something where you would make millions of dollars that was so easy right? You ever seen some of these drivers when they get out of the car at the end of the day? Yeah, obviously not. Why the hell do you keep coming into a thread you know nothing about?
Nope, doesn't look like an athlete at all does it?

Again, showing reading comprehension isn't your strong point. -
Hb31187Abs=Athlete, noted
And ive had ACL surgery, and 10 days after surgery its hard for you to do much of anything. So if he can strap into a stock car and compete(assuming he didnt fail int hat race) it just makes it that much less impressive what they do week in and out. You tear an ACL and in any other "sport" you're out 6 months at the very least -

Well, guess what, he failed. And it all depends on what you do. It was his left knee, he doesn't really need that to much to drive a stock car if he can learn to handle the brake and clutch with his right foot. If you are a right handed QB and break a couple fingers on your left hand, is that going to keep you from playing? No. Because you don't really use it much, you throw the ball with your right. Plus, it's called HEART! In other sports, you have the rest of the team you can depend on to help you win that Championship, in NASCAR, if you have to miss a couple races, your Championship hopes are GONE. You don't miss races. No matter what. -

2quik4ubeing a athlete is nascar is overrated I know some of these guys lift hard like carl edwards but when you see fat asses like tony stewart you have to question the athletic ability
-
coyotes22So, we can all agree, NASCAR is NOT dead,,,,,,,,, Maybe, just in a funk right now?
Maybe we should try and go a few years without changing the entire sport? JMHO
