Browns interested in Kolb?

IMO he is becoming more trade able every game Vick plays well. However, Eagles would probably want a quarterback in return (Wallace) and a high draft pick.
Also, I don't think it is necessary to draft and groom a QB. This works for some teams, but like some have posted not well for the Browns. Why not make the trade for Kolb and give him a shot. Kurt Warner was not a draft and develop qb and look how his career ended up.
It will be tough to suceed in the passing game with this team whoever the qb. Like BR stated the receiving corps are void of talent. Did Massaquoi even play vs. Ravens. Don't remember his name ever mentioned. Right side of the line was a lot better with Pashos in there and St. Clair out.
I wouldn't take Kolb for anything higher than a 4th pick. I do not see what he has done to warrant anything higher than a 4th round pick. -

He does own the NFL record for most passing yards in a QBs first 3 starts. -

Agree. Maybe even a 4th and a player. -
Art ModellWhat a mess. Not even funny anymore.

thedynasty1998It's shocking to me that Browns fans wouldn't be willing to part with a 2nd for Kolb. I think I said it before, but I would give a conditional first rounder.
I know he's unproven, but so is anyone who they acquire in the draft next year, plus Kolb has been groomed in the NFL for a while now. -

Like I said, the guy already has an NFL record. He gets hurt in the first game of the year; gets replaced by Vick who plays out of his mind; and now he is all of a sudden no one wants a piece of him. Lets not forget, that Phila got rid of Donovan McNabb, a VERY good QB, for this guy..so they must know something about Kolb.
I'm not trying to say he's going to be great or anything crazy...but Browns fans are crazy to not want to grab him for a mid round draft pick (if indeed that's all it takes...now a first rounder, and i'd probably pass). -
Art ModellAfter 3 weeks already talking new qb new coach. I even seen the great Holmgren take a few shots on here. What a joke of an organization. Embarrassing utterly Embarrassing.

Yet like a moth to a flame you keep posting on OUR threads. You might want to come out of the closet........
In more ways than one. -
Art ModellJust look at the power rankings men. Maybe one day you will crack the top 20.

norwalkCome on Modell, I defended you in the one thread but you just can't take jabs to take jabs. This discussion is about Kolb and you bring up the Browns as a joke, etc.
As far as Kolb goes, I say do it if it's 2nd round or lower. I agree with Sportsandlady that Philly was willing to give up on McNabb to entrust their franchise with this QB. It's unfortunate that he got hurt but it opened the door for Vick and so be it. He had 3 very good starts and was ready to move forward this year, then the injury. I say take a chance unless you are truly high on McCoy or Mallet or someone else in the draft. -

And you continue posting at, easily, a 10:1 ratio of number of posts on Browns threads versus Steelers threads. Yep, you definitely are in the closet.... -

Really dynasty!?!?? Its SHOCKING?!?!?!? GTFO. Yeah great idea, lets give a conditional 1st rd pick for a guy who was drafted in the 2nd round, and hasn't had that much playing time. Great idea. Maybe the browns should trade their 1st and 2nd for Brody Croyle , since he is grooming to take over for Cassel in KC.

Yeah i agree, a 5th or 4th. Nothing more. Doesn't deserve more, otherwise its a huge steal for the Eagles. -
Commander of AwesomeHow about Giving up a 1st for Charlie Whitehurst? or Tarvis Jackson?!!! "SHOCKING" [lol idiot] to me that you wouldnt trade a first for a guy thats been groomed by Favre and Childress to be the guy!!!!

It's hard to even respond to you, but I will. And no, I won't GTFO, idiot.
Yes, IMO I'm shocked that a Browns fan wouldn't support giving up a 2nd rounder for Kolb. Quit acting like our draft picks are so valuable. Maybe Holmgren turns it around, but at this point you have to look at the past few drafts to see how the Browns have faired in the draft.
Andy Reid is really high on Kolb, and I value his opinion. Like was said above, they were willing to part with McNabb to give Kolb his shot, and unless for a crazy change of events, he is their starting QB.
So since guys are drafted in a certain round, that's the value they carry? That's just stupid. Some guys develop, while others don't. Kolb has proven himself in the NFL and proved enough to the coaches and executives that see him daily, that they were willing to part with a QB in his prime who was highly successful.
Now if you want to discuss things like an adult, that's fine. You are entitled to your opinion, but saying GTFO shows the level of discussion you like to participate in. -

They are a joke. Holmgren was supposed to be the great savior but yet they are more of a mess this year than last. They get rid of Quinn and Anderson and bring in 2 bums plus draft their future franchise qb and still have qb issues. The mistake by the lake rolls on. -
like_thatAlso I don't know why you guys are getting your pants messy over 3 games. His career QB rating is 67.8. His TD-INT ratio is 4-7, and he also has 4 fumbles. As for those record breaking 3 games, his stats were inflated by two games, so he didn't necessarily play 3 great games. Not to mention one of those games he threw 3 INT's. Take a look yourself http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8290/gamelog;_ylt=AmGOYxmR4hGELD_NqxSOW3v.uLYF?year=2009.
So basically, he had ONE good game. That sure as hell doesn't warrant anything above a 4th rd pick (lmao conditional 1st rd). Derek Anderson had more than one good game FYI. -

When you stop blowing complete shit in your posts, I will stop treating you like the idiot you are. As for my response about Kolb see my previous post. Kolb has not proven himself nice fail. And don't try to act like you have "adult" discussions on here. Typical passive-aggressive bs. You are probably the "victim" in everything you do in life. -
thedynasty1998BTW, the Browns 2nd round draft pick last year was TJ Ward, 3rd was Colt McCoy.
In 2009 it was Robo and Massaquoi and 4th round was the LB they cut.
Guess I should GTFO for thinking Kolb is more valuable than any of those picks. Shit, you offer the Eagles all 5 of those draft picks for Kolb and they probably laugh at you. -
Commander of Awesome
But wait! TYou forgot to mention that Reid likes him so much that he benched him then put him on the trading block. Also since the browns dont draft well we should devalue our picks for the current regime (See TJ Ward) and Heckert having a proven draft track record (see the entire Eagles team) thus we should give up as many 1st as it takes to get a guy that might be good, even though we could draft a guy 5 yrs younger with our first pick, than can be groomed in our system.like_that;500285 wrote:Also I don't know why you guys are getting your pants messy over 3 games. TJ Ward is starting and playing extemely well, nice fail. McCoy was a power move by Holmgren, even though Heckert didn't want to draft him. Nice FAIL. Robo and MoMass were Womangini picks, again NICE fucking FAIL idiot. Dynasty talking out of his ass like usual. -
