LeBron has some not nice words regarding Gilbert, Cleveland in GQ

He is in the September GQ, and he answered a few questions about the whole thing

The difference between his hometown Akron and Cleveland:
"It's not far, but it is far. And Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us...So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day."
On Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, who was incensed by James' decision:
"I don't think he ever cared about LeBron. My mother always told me: 'You will see the light of people when they hit adversity. You'll get a good sense of their character' Me and my family have seen the character of that man."
He did say he'd go back to the Cavs if the situation was right (which if it's to make a team like the Heat, will never happen)

I think he has a hurt butt over all the criticism he has taken since that decision fiasco. These athletes are so sensitive.

Joe Tait recently said that LeBron never once spoke to him in his 7 years there. Just thought I'd throw that in.

who was talking in the second quote?

    LeBron in the third person

Fuck you Lebron, go buy a six pack of Quitness from Great Lakes.

Lebron gonna do what Lebron gonna do

    :)

lol at LeBron trying to paint an image of some "hood" rivalry between Cleveland and Akron.

Not trying to defend Lebron, but there IS something to this. It's a pecking order type of thing. The Akron-Canton-Massillon kids always thought they ruled over us. I can see how the Cleveland kids thought they ruled over the Akron kids. Think about it a little bit. He still sucks, though.

BRF...I have to admit M'asshole'an always seemed to think their shit didn't stink. I always loved it when our Legion team would clean their clocks.

He's not trying to paint a hood rivalry. In fact, I'd say his comments weren't even out of line.

When you were growing up, didn't you HATE the guys you played against? Your rivals?

Well if you read the rest of the interview, he basically says that the guys he played against from Cleveland treated his team like little brothers and didn't respect them because they were from Akron so Lebron hated them.

It's no different than me hating kids from Hubbard that I played against.

To be fair, everyone hates everyone in the Mahoning Valley, even their next door neighbors ;)

Sounds like an idiot trying to rationalize his dumbass decision. Also lol at him listening to his mom, the same mom who banged Dwest herpes and all, and drunk drove in cleveland then claimed she'll have the cop fired.

"The mother of Cavaliers Star LeBraun James has been arrested on DUI resisting and other charges. Gloria James 37 hit an unmarked police car with her 2004 Cadillac Escalade. The unmarked car was occupied by two officers that were working special duty for a low income housing complex.Cleveland Police are further investigating. The officers were not hurt

She was arrested and cussed out officers and resisted attempts to handcuff her. Police have no idea why she was at the high drug high crime complex and Le Braun has no comment until he has a chance to sit down with his family and discuss the issue."

    - all I got to say.

    LeBron is an idiot.

The Cleveland kids thought they were better than you? Really LeBron? You were like 8ft 14 in 8th grade. 3-time Mr. Basketball. Cover of SI as a junior.

I ain't buyin that shit for one second.

Good point. Not to much they were 3x state champs and made the finals 4 years in a row. I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't "look down" upon anyone or any team that consistently makes the state finals.

Not only just his team, but LeBron himself. He was a pretty cocky kid, rightfully so. I HIGHLY doubt he actually thought anyone in the country thought they were better than him.

"I'm above you in life because I live in Cleveland, you live in Akron"

"Okay, this summer I'll slap you with my wallet"

    SMH @ LeBron.

It's just the complete sense of entitlement he's had his entire life speaking for him. He's been basketball jesus in NE Ohio since forever. When there was that controversy over free jerseys or whatever at SVSM, his home area defending him to an insane level. Then he went to the NE Ohio NBA team and turned them from a joke into a legit title contender. He became a god to Cleveland because they thought he was the guy who'd finally bring them a championship for the first time in 50+ years. Then, he told the fans he was leaving by declaring he's taking his talents to South Beach on an ESPN show created for that purpose.

Syndicated columnists who have no reason to love or care about Cleveland have bashed him. He's getting legit hate from fans (Cleveland mainly, but there were other fanbases who found out they weren't getting him on his self-indulgent DECISION show). This is the first time in his life he's gotten legit "you REALLY suck" flack by people who weren't fans of random high school teams in the state and he can't handle it.

Right now, it seems he's just trying to paint everyone else as being in the wrong, because as LBJ, there's no way he can be wrong about anything...right? He never liked Cleveland growing up. The owner didn't respect him because of a knee-jerk response to getting dissed on TV that probably had more to do with getting fans (ie: people spending money on your franchise) pumped up than anything else.

But he says he has no problem with the much-maligned way he made THE DECISION. And he hasn't seemed to have issues with how he allegedly sequestered himself from the world outside his handlers and cronies, as opposed to doing things like talking to the high-profile potential new head coach (Izzo).

It's nothing more than an "Anything I've done is great...it's those other people who are wrong!" sort of mentality.
