Who is the best player not in the HOF?

  • wildcats20
How long has Cris Carter been retired?

Nevermind, I for some reason thought he was only a few years retired.

He retired after the 02 season. Been eligible since 08 and has yet to be inducted. That's a crock

Cris Carter is in, it is just a matter of time, because the NFL can't have too many people inducted at a time.

In MLB, the Blyleven vs. Morris debate is interesting, and I can see both points. To me Morris was a dominant pitcher, Blyleven was very good (often with very bad teams) and had better stats, but Morris' game in '91 showed what a competitor he is, and re the stats Blyleven had a career in the old Twins stadium (which was a hitters' nightmare) compared to Morris' tenure at the relatively hitter-friendly Tiger Stadium.

Basketball? Don't know. Is Karl Malone in yet?

Malone has been voted in and will be elected August 13th.

Thanks, I suppose Iverson is next when he's eligible (and assuming he stays out of the game), for older guys there isn't anyone that jumps out at me. I know diehard Celtics fans gripe about Dennis Johnson but I don't see it. Sidney Moncrief had an awesome career but probably not HOF worthy. And of course there's also the all-too-popular Bill Laimbeer (I'm joking!).

Yeah Wilkins is in, I know some folks that disagreed with it (too "One Dimensional" I suppose), but I thought he deserved it.

Baseball will always have great players not in the HALL(Mcguire,Palmairo,Clemens,Bonds and AROD)
I'll go with Shannon Sharpe for the NFL.Sure the guy is an annoying announcer but he is the greatest TE ever.
  • Laley23
While not eligible quite yet, Reggie Miller will have a claim if he is left off. Right now he is looked at as a borderline guy by most in the know.
  • Ironman92
    Palmeiro would've been a 300 HR/600 double guy with around 3,000 hits....killed his chances, I don't think he'll ever get in.

Barry Bonds will be the greatest MLB player to not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. It's his own fault, but even before all the steroid stuff, he was one of the greatest all-around players that baseball has ever seen. What is it, 7 MVPs? It's a shame that he tarnished what should be considered one of the greatest careers in the history of sports.

Right now for the NFL it's Carter and Sharpe but it's only a matter of time before they get in.

Can't think of any for the NBA. Seems like the basketball HOF is the easiest to get in out of the 3.

    There are 4 HOF's not 3.

NFL Network is showing their top 10 not in the HoF
    10. Ken Anderson ~ a childhood favorite of mine
    9. Ray Guy ~ best punter ever, should already be in
9a. Steve Tasker ~ voters won't say yes for a special teams player
    8. Alex Karras ~ dirty player, never apologized for gambling like Hornung
    7. Ricky Watters ~ bs, get him off this list. "for who? for what?"
    6. Ken Stabler ~ great as a Raider, last 5 years playing the partying caught up with him
    5. Andre Reed ~ should be in, one of the best WR's in his era
    4. Jim Marshall ~ 20 years, 282 straight games at DE. Football's Cal Ripken
    3. Shannon Sharpe ~ should be in soon
    2. Cris Carter ~ Cris says Alan Page and Vince Lombardi didn't make it first ballot either.
    1. Jerry Kramer ~ guard who sealed the blocks for Lombardi's alley. Kicked game winning FG in 1962 NFL Championship Game. Only player from the NFL 50th Anniversary team not in the HoF.

yes, thats why they are 9 & 9a

Lots of experts say special teams are 1/3 of the game, too many voters disagree.
