agree...quite a good first week for newly promoted Blackpool to take three points. At least for now, they are tied with Chelsea at the top of the table!

also thought West Ham looked particularly ineffective against an admittedly stronger Villa.

Chelsea made West Bromwich Albion this afternoon look just awful.. 6-0. Drogba with 3, Malouda with 2, and Lampard got 1 as well.

Chelsea even had times where they appeared to be bored and not interested..

Aston Villa looked very lively today in their 3 nil victory over West Ham with youngster Marc Albrighton impressing. Hopefully they can keep ahold of Milner...

Liverpool too, with a healthy Torres.

Just caught Chelsea's win on FCS before the Liverpool game and it was very impressive.

Regardless....Let's go Liverpool! Beat Arsenal! This Is Anfield.

WOW Red card called on Joe Cole in his Red debut. Shoulda been a yellow, but it was a stupid challenge nonetheless.

Pepe Reina with a pretty classic fail at the end of the match today. Way to choke away 3 points.

I for one, am not too distressed about Martin O'Neil leaving Villa. Yesterday was the most open and creative I've seen Villa in the last two years.

Marc Albrighton and Ciaran Clark both looked like dynamite. Hopefully our new manager sees their potential and gets them out on the pitch more so we can see what we have (something O'Neil never did).

    Villa. We out here.

Yeah pretty bad way to tie, but being down a man at halftime I'll take a draw against Arsenal.

Great goal from N'Gog, and Torres showed some flashes of his old athleticism so that was definitely a plus.

ah well, it is a long season.

    Random thoughts.....

    1. the Red Card on Joe Cole....hey, i am not a Liverpool fan, but that was absolutely not a Red...............terrible call IMO.

    2. Maradona apparently angling for the Aston Villa job.............run away run away run away run away run away...............................you can find way less high maintenance managers than Maradona, who know way more about football, ..............and you won't have to comp their 300$ too tight suits.
  • I Wear Pants
$300? He's getting some good deals on suits.

    Also, go Chelsea!

Wow, just checked out the Cole red card. What the hell was that?

Put him back in a nice Samsung blue jersey and I am throwing things.

Classy finish from Giggsy for the third as United take the three nil victory.

    Giggs' strike was dirty.

Champions League Playoff Round, 1st Leg:

    BSC Young Boys 3 - 2 Spurs

Young Boys scored three goals in the first 28 minutes only to see Spurs score a late goal in each half. Young Boys also squandered two scoring chances to go up 4-1 just before Pavlyuchenko scored Spurs' second goal.

2nd leg will be next Wednesday (2:45 - Fox Soccer Channel)

Not even close to United and Chelsea in not only depth, but talent too.

Very shaky display from Tottenham today, the turf definitely didn't help their cause either. But you have to take the positives of coming back from being 3 nil down early on. Just need a low scoring win at home now, which seems to be a very reasonable result.

To say not even close is as ignorant as saying Italy was talented enough to win the World Cup this past year.

Not only will they win the WC......but DOMINATE THE GROUP!

As a Gunner fan....thank you Pepe Reina! I couldn't watch the game, but I saw that gift in the highlights.

It was a very good game to watch.

Arsenal controlled the game from the get go for about the first 25 minutes then it was pretty balanced until the ref gave Cole that terrible red. Then Liverpool came out firing in the 1st half and played ball control until Arsenal got aggressive in the last 5 minutes like they needed to, and they were gifted a goal (although the whole time I was watching I had my pessimistic feeling there was NO way we steal 3 pts down a man against Arsenal).

It wasn't a terrible red, watch it again
