I think he is suggesting that you are young and naive...which by some of this discussion today...I think we have many young, naive posters.

How? Because I see a world outside of Cleveland? That I'm not going to "hate" Lebron after tonight? That Lebron says he wants to win championships, puts himself in the best situation to do that, and now he's a quitter?

It's young and naive to say, "Lebron promised me a championship and he didn't deliver, now he's leaving. So now I hate him."

I can't blame the guy for moving on if he does indeed go elsewhere, but I will have lost a lot of respect for him.
    Fuck off "dynasty"

Losing some respect and hating a guy are mutually exclusive you fucking moron.

I can't count how many times I've seen someone say they will hate Lebron over the last 24 hours, whether it be here, facebook or twitter. And that really wasn't addressed to you, but more the masses.

Yeah...I did go over the top there. But it was the best insane exaggeration I could think of on short notice.

The roflcopter needs saved for MELTDOWN CENTRAL (tonight at about 9:15ish, I'd guess).

Look dude, he has to do what he feels is best for him. He's 26, very close to your age, that's fine, people make mistakes, maybe it's the right move, point is for him...now...he feels like it's what he needs to do. If he leaves, it may be an easier route to achieve goals he wants, that's fine, but in the process of doing so, his integrity, will, by most intelligent accounts, take a hit. Every action has an equal reaction.

I actually don't think that Miami is the best option for him. I think for his image he would be better suited to stay in Cleveland and to win, may Chicago. However, it is his decision and I'm not going to lose respect for him just because he is announcing on a one hour show. I said it before, but it's really the only way I can see him doing it.

Should he leave I lose respect for two reasons and two reasons only:

    1. You told us you were going to win us a championship

    2. By dragging this thing out, you left the Cavs and its fans high and dry, with no possibility to fill a huge void, all the big names are gone already

and before you say..."well no one would come to Cleveland anyway"...that ain't the point and untrue as it would have been a max deal.

    ^ my point as well
  • wes_mantooth
Alot of the talking heads are saying that if Lebron goes to Miami...he is "scottie pippen" cuz it is Dwades team....very interesting.
  • Fab1b
His legacy certainly suffers winning a title with a guy like Wade at your side!!
  • ytownfootball
LBJ won't be a "Scottie Pippen" to anyone, the highlights will show more of LBJ and less of Wade on ESPN, of course should it happen.

Talking heads...when did they forget mass media?

I completely agree with you here. For all parties involved it would be best if as soon as he made up his mind, he informed at least the Cavs. I do think he could have handled that better. The Cavs shouldn't be watching ESPN at 9 the same way as you and I, because they had a professional relationship. However, today is the first day they can sign, so it's not like he strung it out that long. By bringing everyone to see him, he expedited the process.

Also true, "Zero Titles w/out Wade"

    lol
  • OhioStatePride2003
I've heard that all day. I've heard that Miami fans - with good reason - will be excited as hell. But people in Wade's inner circle aren't to happy with the move. It's Wade's team - not Lebron's. Even heard that LeBron would be asked not to score as much (i.e. 22 PPG) and push for double digit assist every game. It's hard to tell what's going to happen, but I honestly feel that Lebron is thinking New York if he doesn't go to Miami. I just don't see him coming back to Cleveland as much as I want him too. Expect the worst and hope for the best I guess.

That's what people say now, but Kobe's legacy was at an all time low (minus the trial) when he quit on his team against the Suns in game 7 then demanded a trade. After he got Gasol, Bynum, and Artest and won a couple titles his legacy appears to be so high that his name is often mentioned with MJ. That would not have been the case before those titles. I have a feeling a similar thing will happen with Tiger Woods. Win a major or two and soon everybody will forget about him.
