LeBron to Miami rumors.

Exactly. If one person has this much impact on an entire city, then the city is already a failure. We already knew that, though. -
KR1245Fuck it. I was a Cavs fan before Lebron and I will be a Cavs fan after him. This one will sting but I'll get over it. Thankfully I have to work on campus all day so I wont be able to keep up with this. I just want it to be over with.

That's the Latitude and Longitude, plots out to Rhodes Arena (more specifically, it plots to the middle of Route 8 right by the JAR) -

I'll answer my own question. The longitude/latitude on his Twitter implies New Jersey. -

jpake1If anybody thinks the Heat would have a hard time filling their roster with solid players, you are crazy my friend. Those 3 guys joining together doesn't make it a cake walk either. Look at the Lakers and Celtics, they've got loaded rosters. It WILL NOT be easy if they team up. It seems like some fans are already butt hurt and nothing has happened yet. Call him a pussy, cheater, or whatever you want-- he's given you 7 great seasons and they havn't put enough around him. They ARE NOT close to a ring, plain and simple. They can't even make it out of the ECF, let alone tango with the Lakers. Maybe some of you are taking it for granted, but the league already has dynasties in place-- you need one yourself to contend. Cleveland cannot even spell dynasty at this time. His legacy increases with titles in a stacked Miami-- his legacy takes a step back playing in Cleveland and not winning a title. He'd gain his respect back if he wins a title in Miami against the Lakers in a 6 or 7 game series, because people would finally realize that a dream team is what it takes to take the Lakers down.

Exactly. They will find plenty of guys late in their career who are willing to take a substantial paycut to play on that juggernaut -

It will be just like when "The Glove" and "The Mailman" took a paycut to win a championship at the end of their careers....oh wait....nevermind.
The Heat would basically have half of a roster of league minimum players. Unless they can make some good finds, the team will have no depth. -

krazie45No matter how Jpake might try to spin this, LeBron going to Miami tells everyone he is not a player that can lead a champion. In Miami he is Robin, plain and simple. That's Wade's city, Wade's county, Wade's state, and Wade's team. He will always be remembered as Wade's Pippen and Wade will always have 1 more title than him.
If that's the case than that's fine, but it tells all of use that LeBron James wasn't the player that everyone thought he was. -
hangonsloopyLebron will NEVER be considered to be at the level of MJ or Kobe if he does this. Reports are already coming in from nationwide that he will be hated around the league, not just in cleveland. In miami he will be admitting he couldnt win a title with him as the superstar, so he took the easy way out.

jpake1Just because they're minimum guys, doesn't mean they'd be shit. They'll be able to get some solid guys to give them 10-15mins a night.

elbuckeye28People fail to see how easy the public's perceptions change. Kobe Bryant was considered a bad teammate and would never be the greatest player when he was quitting on the Lakers and demanding a trade. Two championships later(with a MUCH better team) and he is one of the greatest(I agree) players of all time and now Lebron will never be a Kobe. A-Rod was considered a choker and couldn't even win a championship with the mighty Yankees. Now after a great post season and a championship that perceptions is quite different.

Most teams that win championships have at least a good 7-8 man rotation that they can use in the playoffs. Unless Miami has some amazing finds, who are they going sign to fill out the roster? -

It's not me spinning anything, it's just me giving a good outlook on it without being a butt hurt Cleveland fan. He's arguably the best player in the league, he could lead a TEAM to the promise land. Cleveland just couldn't deliver him a team worthy of it. Him heading to Miami tells people what they already know, and what some of YOU GUYS ON HERE were the last to know-- YOU DON'T HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM. It cannot be said any other way. People can call him Robin, ring chaiser, but I'm sure he'll be quite happy being called a CHAMPION. You are right, this is Wade's team, this is his city, but young fella, this is LeBron James WORLD. He'll be known as the guy that brought them BACK to the promise land. It won't be Dwade and Lebron and Bosh... it'll be the Dream Team, Big Three, 3 6 Mafia, or whatever people will nickname them. Their will always be haters. They've hated on Kobe's 5 rings, it hasn't hurt his legacy one bit. Anybody that knows anything about the game knows this-- it takes more than one guy to do it.krazie45;415691 wrote:No matter how Jpake might try to spin this, LeBron going to Miami tells everyone he is not a player that can lead a champion. How far off are the Cavs? You act as if that team is at the level of the Timberwolves, Grizzles etc...This team had the best record two years in a row. You dont do that because of one player. Dont forget that the Cavs havent made a SINGLE move that Lebron hasnt approved off. Many people that know the game more than any of us had the Cavs as the favorites to win the league last year, now all of a sudden they dont have any talent? Come on. Its not as if the Cavs are stuck with this roster. That had the pieces to bring in a guy like Bosh but Bosh didnt want any part of it. Obviously they are good enough to add some talent around him. -

I'm not exactly sure who they're talking too, been pretty quiet with those guys, but I imagine Chalmers and Anthony may round out the starting lineup. They could target Arroyo and White Chocolate at backup PG's (both were solid backup PG's last year). They would have Raja Bell in the bag, which he would be a real nice backup SG. It seems like Iverson is open to any team with any pay. SF would be the hardest spot to find, but maybe TMac takes the min or get somebody like Devon George, then round it out with Butler who they just drafted. At PF they could target Tim Thomas or Joe Smith and round out with Varnado who they just drafted. At C they could target Z, Wallace, Magloire, and a lot of other guys, then have Pittman sit the pin. They'll be able to find a solid 8-9 man rotation. It won't be a good bench, but it'll be decent, and that might be all they need. -

If they didn't have a championship caliber team they wouldn't have had the best record in the NBA two years in a row plain and simple. They didn't have a championship caliber coach. Funny you try to call me a butt hurt Cleveland fan when you're opinion is just as biased. I didn't disagree that he could be a champion. But the point is that we all thought LeBron James was the second coming of Jordan and this will prove that he's the second coming of Pippen (nothing wrong with that since Pippen is still considered a great player and is a multiple time champion.) Kobe's rings are different. Sure he one 3 when he was the 2nd guy but he's also won 2 as THE guy. He will NEVER be THE guy in Miami. More power to him if he's willing to accept that he's not that kind of player and just get a championship but it alters the perception of what type of player he is since high school. Give me a break on this "dream team" stuff, it WILL be Wade and LeBrosh. Just like it was Bird and McHale/Parish....just like it was Magic and Kareem/Worthy.....just like it was Jordan and Pippen/Rodman.
Like I said, if LeBron realizes he can't be "the guy" on a championship team that's ok, he wouldn't be the first. But going to Miami means he will never be in that Jordan/Bird/Magic/Russell/Kobe class that everyone thought he was destined for. Tonight we may very well see the death of "King James" and the birth of LeBron James.....great player but not in the Level 1 Pantheon of NBA legends.
