Cavs fans....hypothetical question
-
thedynasty1998I know why they play the game, but it's bigger than that. They play 72 regular season games and are entertainers. They bring revenue to a city and excitement. The goal is to win the championship, but that doesn't mean every team that didn't win a champinship is a failure. And it certainly doesn't make Lebron James a failure.
Maybe that's why I'm such a casual fan and don't take things too seriously. I've been to OSU games where they lost and I walk out of the Shoe can continue with my day. The Brown lose every Sunday but it doesn't bother me. The Cavs lost in the playoffs and I still watched the next round.. I love sports, but it seems like some people obviously take things way too serious. -
Fab1bI too root for the team not the player, but if you have "that player" on your team its different but only when they are there! When they leave they are now opponents, enemies plain and simple!
-
thedynasty1998I don't care if people like Lebron or not, but to say, I hate him because he didn't deliver on a promise, is just stupid.
-
Fab1bI don't hate him if he goes but certainly won't root for him or hope he wins one somewhere else!

I look at it a little different. I look at it as a business decision....I ask myself. Would I move to a different city if I was offered a better opportunity and more money(which isn't the case this time)....hell yeah, I would. I don't believe that these athletes "owe" us anything. I guess I am just jaded after all the heartbreaks of guys like Manny, ALbert and Thome leaving over the years. -
just_a_swimmerI just can't wait until it's over however the way it sounds no one will sign until LBJ signs and if he visits all these different cities it is going to be an agonizing month of July. Be nice if Bosh did come to Cleveland.

Believe me, if a Cleveland sports team loses it doesn't ruin me or screw up my day or week. I BLEED Orange & Brown and I've come to the point where if they lose, and they do a lot, it's like "oh well."thedynasty1998;400711 wrote:

This is a blue collar town. It may not be the greatest town but I can tell you one thing that we're NOT....quitters. If he leaves, that's what he'll be remembered by many as. -

FWIW....I def would not hate him. I appreciate what he has done....but I just have a different perspective of what I want to see.....the ultimate prize. -
Tiger2003If James leaves I will still be rooting for the Cavs....I don't just stop because one man leaves....

You're not getting it. Yeah, people would be pissed that he didn't deliver but what we saw in game 5 was something we weren't accustomed to seeing in him....a guy who threw in the towel. THAT is what burns a lot of people up. That was the game the "greatest of all time" was supposed to step up and have a remarkable performance but he tucked his tail between his legs. -

ALWAYS the name on the front....ALWAYS -
Fab1bCleveland is the greatest minor league franchise in all of sports. Think about how many players came through Cleveland be it the Browns, Indians (especially), Cavs left to go onto win elsewhere!! Great pro farm system!
I mean think of how big of a slap in the face it was when after the Browns were taken to Baltimore they win a title finally! -

Why do you care about championships? I guess I'll never understand the fixation with championships, sure its nice to say "Hey look at the team I root for, they are the champions"BR1986FB;400659 wrote:We're not greedy. We just want one. Hell, if he would have gotten the job done THIS year I would have gladly said "hasta la vista, baby" and wished him the best if he left. All I want is ONE.....for now.
At this point, for as sad as it may sound, IF he leaves, the Browns will have the best chance of the three sports teams of getting a championship first and they aren't even close.
WOW, cool story bro. -
Fab1bSleeper whats the point of sport? To win!! Competing is nice but winning is the goal!

I mean sure, I'll take a championship, but its not like Lebron is a complete failure for not winning one. I enjoy watching him play on the Cavs, and that's the point of the sport to me. -
Fab1bI didn't say he was a failure but IMO the Cavs are a failure for not winning a championship with that payroll, record, seeding!

Cool, way to tell me, how I enjoy a sport. -
Cleveland BuckWhen LeBron is moving his family to Chicago he will have to hire the whole Akron PD to guard them. His $3 million mansion will be razed to the ground. The guy will forever be known as a quitter piece of shit. I will root for the Cavs until they leave town or fold.

I saw a lot of Cleveland posters say flat out stupid things when the Cavs were choking away against Boston....just part of the frustration of being a Cleveland sports fan.
I like this side of Wes. It's his sexy side, and that's not saying much. -

Are you a COMPLETE FUCKING IDIOT? I don't ride LBJ's dick like YOU do. I'm ALL about TEAM and CHAMPIONSHIPS, not watching one player for the "enjoyment of the game." You play for NO other reason than to win championships.
Jesus, you may be a Lebron fan but I'm starting to believe Skyhook, etc that you ARE THAT FUCKING DUMB.
Why do I care about championships? As a CLEVELAND fan I guess I'd much rather be known as "the city of champions" versus the "city of #1 seeds that choked when the going got tough" or the "city of bridesmaids." I'd rather see my TEAM win than ooh & ahh at some dude dunking. -
KR1245I was a Cavs fan before him and I would be a Cavs fan after him. As far as Lebron goes......I would hate that fucker with everything that I know.
