Understanding the Cavs cap situation:
-
sleeperI can't help the masses understand basketball, but Dwight Howard is not the best defender in the league. He goes for terrible blocks, is always out of position, and in turn ends up on the bench in foul trouble. AV plays FUNDAMENTAL defense and his abilities transcend anything Dwight could do.
-
2quik4uflopping on the ground every play is not fundamental basketball
-
sleeperLike I said, I can't help the masses understand basketball.
-
Pick6lol d12...whats he average 5-6 fouls a game? 3 in the first quarter? Hell he probably plays 20 minutes a game because he is always in foul trouble. The only reason he win DPOY is because of his jumping ability.
-
Pick6
this is a much more improved AV than 3 years ago2quik4u wrote: flopping on the ground every play is not fundamental basketball -

what kind of stupid ass statement is that? I can do it to the only reason Durant was leading scorer of the year was because he made the most baskets.Pick6 wrote: lol d12...whats he average 5-6 fouls a game? 3 in the first quarter? So jumping ability = DPOY?2quik4u wrote:

hoops23People who think Andy still flops must have watched 0 Cavs games. Andy gave flopping up last season and he's definitely a better post defender than Dwight Howard.
-
gibby08
He still flops almost everytime someone backs down on himPick6 wrote:

Anyone who thinks Andy is in anyway a better defender than Dwight Howard is a retard -
hoops23No, he doesn't flop "every time somebody backs him down"
He "flails" but doesn't flop. He holds his ground.
Anybody who thinks D12 is a good post defender is retarded. He's a great weak side defender/shot blocker, that's it.
I can name a handful of guys who are better one-on-one post defenders than Dwight Howard. -
Pick6
exactly.hoops23 wrote: People who think Andy still flops must have watched 0 Cavs games. Andy gave flopping up last season and he's definitely a better post defender than Dwight Howard.
2quik. nothing stupid about it. I like how you only point out one part of my post and ignore the other. It takes no skill to block a shot when your 7ft tall, have a 7ft wing span and can jump like a freak. It does take some skill to shoot a basketball...
LOL at Ray Allen going right around Howard and dunking on him last night. DPOY!! -
gibby08^^^
Whatever...If he didn't play on Lebron's team not a soul would even know who he is -
hoops23
Really? Then why were so many teams trying to sign his ass when he was a FA? Why is he inquired about during trade talks?gibby08 wrote: ^^^

People here know Joakim Noah, who is pretty much the same player. Noah is a better offensive player, but Andy is still the better defender. -
gibby08Noah is a much better player than AV
Hmmm...maybe because he had been on Lebron's team and Lebron had made his ass look good?? Just a thought -
gibby08Another question I have for you AV ballhuggers...if he was so great..why doesn't he start for the Cavs??
-
Pick6^^LMAO Why doesnt Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry, Lamar Odom, and Manu Ginobili start for their teams?
-
gibby08Maybe because they have guys who are better than them in front of them...but they way you guys talk.Andy is the 2nd best player on the Cavs,so therefor he should start
-
Pick6No, because they are the 6th man. Just because they dont start doesnt mean they arent good. Jason Terry could be argued the 2nd best player for the Mavs, Crawford too. Hell you could even have a legitimate argument that Ginolbili is the best player for the Spurs. Its called a strategy. I take it you have never played basketball.
-
gibby08As usual..you would be wrong
-
SQ_CraziesJust read over the thread, it's VERY clear that some of you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
Anyone who talks smack on Andy either literally never watches the Cavs and has no business in this discussion, or you have less knowledge of the game than a 3rd grader. That's how it is, don't expect me to bother arguing with you--you're just a jackass. -
gibby08What the hell do you?? Just because you suck Lebron's balls doesn't mean you have knowledge of the NBA
-
SQ_CraziesOk..funny guy, I'll post the examples.
-
gibby08You didn't answer my question assclown...what do you know about the NBA??

Andy has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. Alot of years and alot of money for a guy that is a good defender off the bench. But I'd imagine NO would want JJ too because of his youth. But Andy is the better player.2quik4u wrote: I dont see a true point guard working with lebrons play, because lebron dominates the ball so much.thedynasty1998 wrote: Has that much conversation really been wasted on a Chris Paul deal? I've never fully understood the obsession with Varejao either.thedynasty1998 wrote: I quit reading after I saw "Andy is coveted by other teams".thedynasty1998 wrote: Who wants him, and why?
He has reached his potential, with his style of play, he will drop off quicker than most, he's undersized, can't score and has a bad contract.
Show me otherwise, to prove I'm the one that's ignorant.thedynasty1998 wrote: I don't buy into the plus minus argument. The fact that he's in the top 3 is the only argument I need to prove its value.
I think he plays hard and is a solid rebounder.
I don't think he's as good of a defender as many seem to think.
And the 6th man award thing was more of a reward to the Cavs having the best record. Plus, he's a bench player. That's why I don't think he's highly coveted, because best case scenario he's a good 6th man that brings energy off the bench.
Actually, 4 years, professor.thedynasty1998 wrote: BTW, Ben Wallace was defensive player of the year one year. Varejao is a poor mans Ben Wallace, who is the most overrated player of all time. That move by Ferry to bring in Wallace and pay his ridiculous salary was a great move as well, huh? Just further proof that Ferry should be canned.
