No, because the Cavs have beaten the Celtics with Garnett, so it's irrelevant to me.Non wrote: it shouldn't be irrelevant
two totally different teams, last year without Garnett and this year with him
you keep looking at last year's Celtics as a frame of reference
you said before the series the Celtics wouldn't be tougher than the Bulls because the Bulls and Celtics went seven games LAST YEAR...when Garnett didn't play
I never said the Celtics wouldn't be tougher than the Bulls, and if I did, I was drunk.
I knew this series would be a fight. I thought the Cavs would win in 6, but I'm wrong.. Obviously.
You must've been drunk.
I'm not going to look back but I said at the end of the Chicago series that the Cavs were showing holes in the defense and that the Celtics would definitely be a better test defensively with their playoff experience.
Most of the Cavs fans didn't seem to think this would be a tough series.
Not that it matters, just saying. The Celtics with Garnett have a significant toughness in the playoffs that clearly was missing last year.
Orlando might not have been able to come back from 3-2 down if he was in there so that basis for comparison is significantly flawed. -
Swamp FoxBoston is getting some real momentum now. They still may lose to the Cavs in the series but they are no slouch and Rondo is the real deal. Their bench has been out-performing the Cav's bench and the Celtics seem to be playing with a lot more passion than the Cavs have demonstrated. I still feel however, that the Lakers are going to repeat, much to the chagrin of all Laker haters. I believe that the Lakers most dangerous opponent from here on will be the Phoenix Suns. I maintain that the Suns have a team that can shock the Lakers, although every person who responded to my comments about the capabilities of the Suns disagreed with me. I suppose we shall see.

NonThe Cavs can do it but I don't know if they can draw on a lot of past experiences in order to do it. If that makes sense.
They were in the NBA Finals a few years ago but with a lot of different players.
The circumstances are a lot different now. They came in with the best record and were considered the favorite to win the NBA title. The expectations were extremely high and now it's on the verge of slipping away, needing to win these last two games. The pressure on LeBron and the entire team has never been greater than it is right now. -
daveI wish this one was tomorrow, I'm excited to see what the Cavs can bring. Until they are done I expect them to win every game they play.

hoops23Sometimes it takes some major adversity to bring a team together for that big run..
On the other hand, sometimes it takes some major adversity to break apart everything a team built during the season.
We'll see which is the case on Thursday. -
Trueblue23LeBron just looked strange tonight.
Wasn't running, wasn't talking, didn't look like he gave a shit. -
Laley23On a side note, this is eerily similar to last year. Orlando has won 8 in a row in playoffs and have the long lay off. If the Cavs take it to a game 7 than either of these teams will have the swagger, momentum, and will have played competitively recently.

Trueblue23I really hope we have another Lakers vs Celtics Finals..
REVENGE! -
ytownfootballDon't know where exactly to say Mike Brown blows but this is as good as any.
Fuck your defense MB, 1 fucking twenty...you suck. -

it's not often a team crushes everybody all season and then rolls through the playoffs
there usually is some adversity along the way -
Cleveland BuckCeltics big. The Cavs quit.

NonDifferent sport but just last year the Penguins lost to the Red Wings 5-0 in Game 5.
Blowout city. Fleury got pulled.
