Hb31187I didnt watch the game, Just saw the box score and dont wanna sift through this thread. Was Rondo abusing Mo in the halfcourt or was he pushing it and scoring in transition?
-
ytownfootball
A little of both, I would say more half court than transition. He just out quicked him a lot and beat him by a step. Moved Parker on him to start the third and though Rondo still beat Parker a few times, it wasn't nearly as bad as in the first half. I think mixing it up coverage wise was the turning point in the game...well that and Mo caught fire with his first slam as a Cav.Hb31187 wrote: I didnt watch the game, Just saw the box score and dont wanna sift through this thread. hoops23I love when Cavs fans fight amongst each other.
We have a great team and all people want to do is piss on one another lol... -
From the HillsI was watching the post game on TNT when Barkley and Weber basically got into an argument on whether or not the Celtics' bigs should be aggressive and use up their fouls on the Cav's bigs. Weber (who is a terrible commentator) thinks they should, while Barkley doesn't even think the Celtics have enough quality bigs to match up with the Cavs. Although I often disagree with Sir Charles he is right on this point. The Cavs front line is deeper and more talented than Boston's and should dominate when it comes to points in the paint, rebounds, and hard fouls. Speaking of hard fouls I loved Shaqs foul on Rhondo. That's what has to be done, make him think twice about driving in there all the time like he owns the paint.

I'm not goin anywhere. All I do is point to rational thinking in estimating what the Cavs are and what they aren't. If you don't appreciate some pragmatism and viewing realities beyond what the media wants you to think, then place me on ignore., It's an easy thing to do.hangonsloopy wrote: LOL, please stop responding to footwedge so he will go away. -

LOL. That was just one of a several stupid fouls Shaq has dished out in the playoffs so far. and I'm sorry...but Rondo is not afraid to be hammered in the lane by Shaq or anyone else. From the Hills wrote: I was watching the post game on TNT when Barkley and Weber basically got into an argument on whether or not the Celtics' bigs should be aggressive and use up their fouls on the Cav's bigs. Nobody in the league is afraid of getting hit by Shaq. Anybody that thinks otherwise has never been in a fight to win something special. -
BRFAnd I DON'T like it when Cavs fans are carping at each other. Footwedge: you are quite the pot stirrer! I agree that we are DEEP on the big men and from what I saw, Shaq was a force and that's why we got him....to put the hammer down on D and score a few points in the process. Go Cavs!

Hardly a stupid foul. It sent a message and I'm not saying it will stop Rondo from driving the lane, but if Shaq is in there he now knows he could pay the price. Footwedge it is ignorant to say no one in the league is afraid of getting hit by Shaq. There are quite a few on the Celtics who would think twice, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Old Man Garnett to name a few.Footwedge wrote:

hoops23Footwedge, you didn't find it ironic that after Shaqs hard foul on Rondo, none of the Celtics came over talking trash or even thought about retaliating?
Nobody is going to fuck with Shaq on the Celtics. -
sportswizuhrd
Exactly what I thought when I saw the play. Had it been V with Shaq on the bench, it would have been a different story. I'm glad he did this. It says you guys cant start shit because he gave them a reason to start it in Game 1 and they chose not to.LTrain23 wrote: Footwedge, you didn't find it ironic that after Shaqs hard foul on Rondo, none of the Celtics came over talking trash or even thought about retaliating?

Pick6I dont think it was stupid for the most common reason..he only made one foul shot. 1 point < 2 points.
-
Footwedge
Do you actually think for one lousy minute that Rondo won't penetrate because Shaq hit him on the way in? Is that what you're saying? Really? You really think Rondo is afraid of getting hurt?LTrain23 wrote: Footwedge, you didn't find it ironic that after Shaqs hard foul on Rondo, none of the Celtics came over talking trash or even thought about retaliating?

Because if you do, you sir are nuts. Sorry. Rondo will happily take getting hit to get his team 2 points.
Just when I thought I read it all.
And then you compound the nonsense by saying that after that hit, the Celtics quit trash talking? Infuckingcredible.
I suppose Jerome Harrison will avoid Ed Reed because he got hit hard once too. -

Another fucking idiot. Has anyone here on the chatter ever actually competed in football or basketball around here?sportswizuhrd wrote:

Driving the lane and getting hit happens all the time. Doesn't matter who is driving to the hoop and who is guarding.
I've heard it all now...."well foot...you're right...Shaq blows....but he will keep Boston from attacking the basket".
Muhahahhahha. Stop it...make it go away!! -

And another person that believes this absolute nonsense. I'm embarrassed to be on this thread with all these pussy Cav fans. From the Hills wrote:

bulldog8Actually, I bet a lot of the guys on the chatter have played competitive sports, which is probably the reason they are all saying that Shaq's foul sent a message and that it was apparent no one wanted any part of him. If you are so competitive and so certain that players don't second guess after a hard foul, then maybe you could call up the Cavs and see if they could use your services for practice one day - i'd be one to guarantee that if you drove on Shaq and he threw one of those bear arms at you that you would be in the fetal position on the floor. Not to mention, I highly doubt you would pop back up and get in a 7'0" 325 lb guy's face. You say someone would be nuts to hesitate to drive on Shaq after a hard foul, I say anyone with any intelligence at all would stay the hell out the Diesel's way.
Again, this coming from an unbiased, non-Cleveland Cavalier fan -

Bro...I'm not trying to stir anything. All I've done is voice my opinion that Shaq has not played up to the level people hoped he would. It's the same thing as being an Indian fan complaining about Sizemore or Hafner. Exact same thing.BRF wrote: And I DON'T like it when Cavs fans are carping at each other. Obviously, you never played a contact sport either. People have been driving on ONeal for 17 years. Nobody in the NBA has ever been afraid of getting hit. Nobody. And nobody will in the future either. -
2quik4ufoot do u just argue for the sake of arguing?
-
bulldog8Actually I played college football and after enough hits to suffer two herniated discs in my low back, i've become much wiser on what I come in contact with....Shaq Diesel would not be one of them
