Boston at Cleveland game 1, 8 pm Saturday game thread

Shaq did exactly what he needed to do.

    1.) Provided toughness inside
2.) Drew plenty of fouls against the Boston Bigs

I have never heard the Q louder than when Mo dunked that ball. That play totally turned the game around IMO. Looked like someone got in his grill and told him to step it up. He was possessed in the 3rd quarter.

Delonte really kept us in it in the 1st half. No one outside of LBJ did anything, and he really stepped up.

Shaq played well. I really liked his fouls on Rondo, and he hit 2 clutch shots down the stretch.

LBJ played like.....the MVP. The 3 at the end was an awesome dagger.

I wish I had more money so I could be at every game. If you haven't been to a playoff game, GO.

He provided some toughness, he didn't draw a lot of fouls though.

I thought the officiating crew kinda sucked, one on Jamison and Big Baby's third/fourth? come to mind.

The officials were bad. They were consistently bad on both ends though I thought.

That was a tough game to call, i thought they did a decent job. If I was a boston fan i'd probably think otherwise.

sloopy, you were at the game too. they usually only show the calls the refs blow that favor boston on the jumbotron, but there were plenty that went the other way im sure.

what a joke....shaq's game was terrible...all the fouls put boston over the limit and to the line...and playing through him on the offensive side kills momentum.

I dont understand the "chickenshit" post at all. What do you want Lebron to do in that situation?
  • KR1245
I was down on Mo at the start of that game but he turned it on in the 2nd khalf. Cavs made some adjutsments and made it tough on Rondo. They are going to have to do a better job on him

    WHAT?!?!?!

This is coming from a guy who is a "Florida Gators fan"? The Gators were notorious under Timmy Tebow for running up the score on the lesser schools.

Seriously, you want to pull that card?

5 points in 20 seconds is NOTHING in basketball..

    That 3 was crucial actually.

BTW, there was 22 seconds left on the clock when that 3 went down.. The shot clock was around 6 seconds when he shot it... Seriously, shut the fuck up.
  • hoops23
BTW, I highly doubt Rondo shoots that well again..

8/9 from the FT line, 1/1 from 3... Just not going to happen on a nightly basis..

I just got back, pretty fucking drunk so I'm not really in the mood to type a whole lot but I just read this thread...and all I have to say is, some of you are fucking pathetic.

NCF, you should do that anyway.
+ 700 fucking trillion. I was dealing with this bitch ass Celtics fan tonight, he gave me shit at half and I told him then there is reason they play 4. Tried to tell the little fucker. I never even broke a sweat in this game, for some reason when they were down 11, I never thought it was in doubt. They played less than half ass basketball for an entire half. LeBron played half ass basketball the vast majority of the game, and look at the stat line he had. Fuck the haters, fuck the doubters--might be a "dog fight" as they say, but is it really a fight if it's 4 games. This series is going to be a disaster for the C's just like I thought.

To all the people who doubted Mo early on:

    A big ole FUCK YOU.
  • SQ_Crazies
Oh, wait..one more thing, to the Parker haters--how'd you like that 2nd half defense when he got switched to Rondo...check his stat line, didn't he have 19 and 9 in the 1st? He says fuck off too.

The other thing that pisses me off is how people continue to rag on Mike Brown.. They look for a scape goat everytime the Cavs are losing.... Even though this is a 4 quarter game, a lot of people forget that as well..

Mike Brown made some GREAT in-game adjustments for the 2nd half.. Taking Mo off Rondo and putting a bigger defender on him..

Then again in the 4th quarter when Mike Brown knew the Celtics would work through Pierce, he put Mo back on Rondo and let Parker/Moon and James guard Pierce and Allen..

Phil Jackson has great players and he wins, he's the GOAT.

Mike Brown has some great players and he wins (I mean he doesn't have 10 titles, but neither did Phil at one point) and he sucks.

It's not just Phil either, I'm not singling out Laker fans here or anything. Just sayin', MB has never got a fair review from most people.

Hahaha. I dont know if I was doubting him but I was def frustrated with him. You gotta admit that he looked lost out there in the 1st half. He couldnt hit a shot and Rondo was abusing him. Anyways, I admit that I was down on Mo, hopefully that 2nd half lights the fuse and he continues to play well this series.

Tawn was pretty quiet last night. Hoping to see more out of him in game 2
  • SQ_Crazies
He did, but so did pretty much the whole team in the 1st half. But like I told that little bitch ass Celtics fan at half last night--they play 4 quarters for a reason.

Off topic but does anybody know if STO is going to show Brons MVP ceremony?

lol, one of those people are the idiot charles barkley. "MIke Brown is the best player the celtics have."

One down and three more to go. The Celtics played pretty well and Rondo is quicker than anyone else on the floor, but it's 1-0 Cavs. I don't see it being a sweep. I still anticipate a tough, gritty series from the Celtics, but as I said a day or so ago, on paper the Cavs are the better team and so far, that's what's happening on the floor. I think if you are a Celtics fan, this next game will determine whether the Celtics will extend this series to six or seven games, or the Cavs simply roll. I still think the series could get interesting.

I was out all night, but I made sure to come home and read this entire thread.

OMG....everyone should read this, it has everything....drama, doucheyness, excitement....and lulz.

I hope this starts a chapter of Mo throwing the hammer down.
