derek rose or john wall?
-
Gblockgot into an argument about this during the game last night. My friend says john wall will be better than derek rose. i doint think so. ill take derek rose
-
HeelzI would Derek Rose hands down
-
Laley23I think Wall will be a better pro. He is a better passer and has a better jumpshot.
-
Hb31187Wall eventually will be the better player. Both freak athletes and quick as hell. But Rose cannot shoot to save his life from beyond midrange, and hes not the greatest passer
-
sleeperThey both aren't as good as advertised, but I'll actually take Rose.
-
thedynasty1998I think this might end up like the Williams vs. Paul argument; can't go wrong with either. But it's hard to say at this point since Wall hasn't even been drafted yet.
Could even add Tyreke Evans to the list if you just want to make it a list of Calipari's guys. -
dat dudeJohn Wall.
I read one article where, in regards to Wall, a scout said, "If he doesn't pan out, at worst you have a Derrick Rose." -
wes_mantoothWall.
Rose is a volume shooter and not much of an assist guy. -
j_crazywall. the jumper is sweet the passing is better.
-
sleeper
You watch Wall at all during the season? His jumper is junk, he is extremely fast and great at getting to the hoop, but he can't shoot for shit.j_crazy wrote: wall. the jumper is sweet the passing is better. -
cbus4lifeI didn't think his jumper was all that good this year...
Hell, if you read the UK boards, they bitched about it a fair amount too. -
PrescottDerek Rose took his team to the final game. Wall had two or three other lottery picks with him and couldn't get to the final four.
-
Gblocknot only do i think rose is better, i think he plays twice as hard
-
2quik4urose >>>>>
-
End of LineRose
-
cviewIf Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade had a child it would be John Wall.
Thus, I'm taking Wall. -
devil1197Rose imo.
I like Wall but I don't think he'll be the superstar that people are thinking he is. -
77LegendRose right now. That is obvious. I'll see if I change my mind once Wall plays in the NBA. No way am I taking a college kid over a NBA mid to high level star!
-
3reppomRose. I think Wall has a higher ceiling but I have major doubts about him ever reaching it
-
hoops23Derrick Rose is and WILL be the better player.
His jump shot is much improved, he's better at going to the rim on contested lay-ups, he's a freak athlete, and he's a very solid passer.
Deron Williams is the best PG in the game though, and I've been saying it for a couple of years now.
John Wall will be good, but I don't think he lives up to the overall hype. -
SQ_CraziesWall.
Rose is overrated. Good player, but not what some want to say he is. I think Wall's game is better but you won't see him actually stand out over Rose for 3-4 years probably. Both are good players. I personally think Wall is what everyone wanted Rose to be. -
hoops23
Ok, so a 2nd year PG who averaged 20/6/4 this year while shooting 48% is overrated?SQ_Crazies wrote: Wall.

LAST YEAR AS A ROOKIE he took Rajon Rondo, who is widely regarded as one of the best defensive PG's in the league to school.. He averaged 19/6/6 on him in the playoffs..
This year, he's averaging 25/9/4 against the Cavs in 2 games..
Sorry, this guy is NOT overrated. It's a pretty stupid comment to even say so.
Rose is pretty much money on jump shot inside 20 feet. He's not a great 3 point shooter, but he doesn't have to be and neither is John Wall.
Not only is Derrick putting up good #'s, but he seems to elevate his game in the playoffs, something a good player does.
It's astounding to me how people can hate on great talent. Rose will be one of the leagues best PG's for years to come.. IMO, he's right below the elite PG's and is on that second tier of guys..
I think some people forget Rose is only in his second year himself. I mean, a career regular season average of 18/6/4 in your first two season is anything but overrated.
If Kobe Bryant is saying good things about another player, then you know he's good. -
goldengonzoI have a hard time believing Wall will be better than Rose, simply because I have been so impressed with Rose in his first two seasons.
Already one of the best passers in the game, his midrange game is on point as well. If you look at Rose's teammates, they'd be a 20-30 win team without him.
My only knack on him is that he doesn't seem to be a vocal leader. Chris Paul and Deron Williams clearly have a command on their team. As I believe Bill Simmons once described, Rose looks like that phenom freshman point guard starting for his high school team who looks to intimidated to yell at his senior teammates.
As for Wall, we'll see, but if you're comparing him to Rose then the bar is set very high. -
thedynasty1998
I'm really starting to question your credibility. Rose is not overrated, he's in his 2nd year and has probably exceeded any expectations the Bulls had for him at this point in his career. And the Joakim Noah comments on that thread are just completely off base.SQ_Crazies wrote: Wall.

One could argue Rose is the 4th best PG in the NBA right now behind Williams, Paul and Nash (and it's a pretty safe argument); yet you are claiming he's overrated? -
sleeperI'd put Billups, Rondo, Kidd, and Parker above Rose too.
