I said one could argue, so it's obviously a matter of opinion. However, I would disagree with that.

Who would you take Rose over? Billups? A champion, A proven leader with a knockdown jumper and solid at setting up an offense and leading a team? Kidd ok maybe, Parker is one of the best scoring guards in the NBA and also a champion. Rondo is the best rebounding Pg in the league, great passer and lock down defender...oh ya and hes a champion too

Rose in a heartbeat. Wall may get there at some point but Rose has really elevated his game this year and is playing at a very high level. He is certainly in that second tier level of PG's in the league and could certainly move up in the near future.

Rose is a 25% 3-point shooter, absolutely terrible. He's not even in the top 10 in APG among just PG's LOL

kind of hard to get assists when you have no players on your team who can score.....certainly other guys around the league your comparing him to are surrounded by way more talent....especially since they traded salmons

Mmm, this is a tough one for me. Can I just say I think they'll both end up being great players in this league? I can see Wall having a higher ceiling because of the bigger frame and I think he's a pretty good passer at his age. But all of that has to come together.

Like I said, one could make the argument for others. I however would argue that Rose is the 4th best PG in the NBA right now. Billups is a solid player, but is probably Denver's 3rd-4th best player. Parker is good, but is also a scorer who just isn't as good offensively and I've never been a huge fan of Kidd.

Baron Davis, Chris Paul, and Devin Harris all average more APG than Rose, and their teams aren't even in the playoffs. Want to try again?

LOL, I did call him a good player did I not? Just another example of someone not taking in my entire post...

PG's I'd take over Rose, in no particular order:

    1. CP3
    2. D-Will
    3. Nash
    4. Rondo
    5. Billups
    6. Baron
    7. Westbrook
    8. Evans

That's quite a few. He's overrated because at any given time you could hear someone call him top 3, top 5, something along those lines.
  • jpake1
I definitely see your reasoning of calling him overrated. You don't think he's top 3-5, but because you hear it often (not sure from who), he's overrated. I get that. Just one question. I'm pretty sure I've heard and seen you say that Rondo is very overrated, but yet he's 4th on your list. The question is this... did you rank those guys in order, or was it whoever came to your head first?
  • SQ_Crazies
No, I said no particular order.

But just like Rondo, my opinion of Rose could change next season. He is a good player, saying someone is overrated makes people jump to an extreme too quickly. He's young and on the 2nd level of players--I just posted a list of PG's and I couldn't come up with more than 8 that I liked better than Rose. But people put him on that first level and that's where he gets overrated. Being overrated doesn't mean you aren't good.

I've gained much more respect for Rondo this season--he's proven to me that he's a pretty damn good player. But I'm still going to say he's overrated because people generally don't want to consider his teammates. But we'll see what he does someday soon without them. He's not on the CP3, D-Will, Steve Nash level.

There actually were a few other guys I thought about putting on that list--I'd personally take Mo Williams and Jason Kidd as my PG over Rose as well, but I figured that would start a pretty pointless argument.

I think are you reaching on your last few, but hey, that's your opinion.

My bad SQ. I read it all, just forget you mentioned that part as I started typing.

Rose is a damn good player, but PG's are stacked in the NBA. I'm sure he's in my top 5-7 range.

Yeah, I mean there is no exact science on rating players. But I'd take Rose as a 2 guard before I'd take Evans or Westbrook as my PG. BUT if we're calling Rose a 1--which is what he is, I like those guys better at that position. I mean, you don't have to be a more traditional PG to be successful, but it hurts your argument in my eyes when you're a PG who can't shoot from deep. He and Rondo are both in that boat as of right now.

baron davis sucked this year how many games did he even play

i like devin harris but come on when your getting blown out by forty im not sure how hard the other team is even playing and they only won twelve games.
  • SQ_Crazies
LOL, he just showed you guys who have more assists on teams that AREN'T in the playoffs--isn't that what you wanted?

Baron Davis sucked this year? Go watch something you understand..
  • Sage
John Wall, at worst, will be Derek Rose. John Wall in a heart beat.

i dont think i saw a baron davis highlight this whole season ...i thought he was hurt.... i like baron davis. derek rose is as good or better as davis was his second year i understand that
  • SQ_Crazies
So admittedly you just said Baron Davis sucks and you never watched him play this year? And he played in 75 games...lmao

I agree, Rose is as good or better than Baron was in his 2nd year--that's not the argument, it's who is better right now.
  • Gblock
were they on tv??? usually if you are playing well they show your highlights. i watch sportcenter everyday. i just remember hearing comentators say he sucked this year. i never saw him once.

but for the sake of argument

09-10 season- 27.7 three point shooting.. 31.0 for his career, 15 points a game for a career 17 points a game guy.....so yeah he kinda sucked this year....he does have 8.0 assist per game but for this year ill take derek rose over him
  • Sage
I see/follow the Clips a little bit. Baron Davis sucked this year. Although, a lot of it had to do with the situation he was in.

Also, Derek Rose has only been in the league for what? 2 years now? He's like 21, lol. He's going to be a beast for years to come.
