If you were Mike Holmgren with the 7th pick
-
royal_kBerry and I agree on McCoy also.
And I wouldn't be upset if we ended up with Thomas. -
lhslep134We can always take Darius Heyward Bey at 7 instead of Crabtree
-
wes_mantoothI would take the best available Buckeye with the #7. And then pick the guy that looks the fastest on youtube with the 2nd rounder.

Lovejoy1984^^
Both those options sound good to me. -

amazing how you've changed your opinion on the importance of height in a quarterback in the past few years...BR1986FB wrote: As I mentioned on the Browns thread, Reghi had Colt McCoy on WKNR and the kid impressed the hell out of me. Nothing but confident.
I've heard knocks on his height (he's 6' 1 3/8, NOT the "under 6 foot" that some assclown...they know who they are but are too busy to see this because they are getting teabagged by Tebow, said about him). BTW...he only had ONE ball batted down which is one of the things that impressed scouts. -
BR1986FB
Please, enlighten me. McCoy is almost 6'2". It's not like he's 5'10" of < 6' like Troy Smith.krazie45 wrote:

krazie45Well if you get to round up and say McCoy is 6'2'' then Smith gets rounded up to 6'0'' in which case you're still talking about 2 inches...
-
BR1986FBAnd McCoy will STILL end up having the much better career.
-
Lovejoy1984Troy Smith was actually 6'0" at the Combine.

Mr. 300
Who the flock cares what you think. You have no friggin' clue based on the names you provided. The kiddy forum is down the road.gibby08 wrote: I really don;t know what the big obsession is with Colt McCoy...
I would rather have Tim Tebow,Tony Pike,or Dan Lefevour -
Big Red MonsterPike is going to be a pretty good pro and would be a good fit here in Cleveland.
-
dubnineummmm Drew Brees height at combine...6'0", you don't exactly have to be gigantic to be an effective QB

Fine...go ahead and take Colt McCoy.....and you guys will continue to suck
BR.....someone really needs to just beat the shit out of you. You need to be knocked down a couple of pegs
You think you know something about the NFL...but in reality you dont know shit...like the majority of us here -

Good luck finding someone who CAN do it. :rolleyes:gibby08 wrote:

Pike is still on their radar if they can't get McCoy. His workouts haven't been impressive but the team has looked at his overall body of work.Big Red Monster wrote: Pike is going to be a pretty good pro and would be a good fit here in Cleveland.
Just read something from a scout on Tebow. He said something to the effect of "he's never seen a group (Team Tebow) put on such a media blitz to get a QB drafted in the "top half of the 1st round." This scout also said "and if that happens, that would be a shame." -

What a douche bag. Go back to sucking Obama's dick on the politics forum, because it is obvious your not very intelligent.gibby08 wrote:

BR1986FBI'm not saying they WON'T take Tebow but from what I've heard, McCoy seems to be their top pick AND fits the offensive direction that they are headed in.
For "Mr. My Lips are permanently attached to Tebow's nads", sing his praises ALL you want, but I don't recall ANYONE saying the Colt McCoy was a projected "H-Back or Tight End" in the NFL or any of his receivers NOT referring to him as a "real quarterback" like they have about Tebow. -
ytownfootballWhat gets me the most is that Pike, LeFevour, Tebow are all spread/read option QB at the college level. Aside from not taking a snap from center his entire college career, poor mechanics, and a box-o-rocks wonderlic score...what spread/read option QB has even had marginal success at the pro level?
and we're supposed to choose three (3) of them over pro style QB's at the college level?
Go diddle your privates over passing healthcare , you have no idea what you're talking about. -

Big Red MonsterWhile I dont know if I agree with it yet or not, it certainly appears that McCoy will be the 2nd round pick.
The 1st round pick is just too hard to predict right now. -

I accept that challenge.BR1986FB wrote:

Mr. 300This is to funny. Gibby the gay boy calling out BR??? I'd pay good money to watch that curb stomp take place.
Ytown, excellent points, and I'll add that Pike's level of competition was below average at best. Under center QB is who I'd want in Cleveland. Run oriented team on the lake playing in the AFC needs to establish run first, pass second. McCoy would be the logical first choice if available. -
gibby08Colt McCoy isnt a spread QB????
-
ksig489Hes not a spread/read option QB
As for any spread/read option QBs who have had success in the pro's...Vince Young. He ran the hell out of the zone read in college. Keep in mind as well that the zone read is still a relatively young offense in college, so not many good zone QBs have gone to the pros. The zone blocking scheme has been in the pros for a long time and it wont be long before a pro coach will make an effort to run the zone read as part of their shotgun package. People thought the Wildcat was a gimmick until the Dolphins started killing teams with it.
Pike, McCoy, and Tebow...yes TEBOW will be successful in the NFL as QBs. Ive never been impressed with Lefevour. His schedule allowed him to be good.
As for all the crap about Tebow being mentioned as an H-Back or a TE and McCoy not being mentioned that way...That just tells me that Tebow is more versatile of an athlete and teams will find a way to get a proven winner on the field for them. regardless...that talk has died down since he has worked on his release and all of a sudden teams are talking about taking him earlier and earlier. He went from being maybe a 3rd rounder or even switching positions to being a potential late 1st round pick. There are at least 5 teams he would start for next season.
As for Clausen...he sucks. He would be a reach pick in any round. I think he should go at least 20 picks after Mr. Irrelivant.
