If you were Mike Holmgren with the 7th pick
-
Big Red MonsterEric Berry and Jimmy Claussen are sitting there.
Who do you pick? -
I drain 3'sEric Berry. Jimmy Clausen can GTFO.
-
se-alumSeriously? Eric Berry hands down.
-
krazie45Berry no question. The better question is what do you do if Berry ISN'T there
-
Big Red MonsterI know the answer, I was just curious what others thought.

I like McClain.krazie45 wrote: Berry no question. The better question is what do you do if Berry ISN'T there -
j_crazyberry and if he's gone trade down (to no lower than 11) and take thomas. I say this with the fullest confidence that Miami will take Thomas 12 if he's there.
-
Big Red MonsterIf Berry is not there, then it has to be Joe Haden.
-
WriterbuckeyeIt's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned: you take Berry.
If he's not there, go with Haden. You can never have enough good cover corners and depth in the defensive backfield.
Taking McClain at 7 would be a huge reach. Given his medical history, he's a risk as it is, let alone reaching to the top of the first round. -
BR1986FBThis question is a "no brainer." Best scenario is that Oakland wants Clausen and we trade down one spot and still get Berry. At this point, Haden is also a reach at #7. If we're gonna reach, might as well take the safety from Texas to join his buddy, Colt McCoy, when we pick him late 1st/early 2nd.
-
Big Red MonsterHaden is a reach at 7?
-
BR1986FB
A lot of mocks have him going to the 49ers with one of their 1sts.Big Red Monster wrote: Haden is a reach at 7? -
Big Red MonsterI think everybody can agree that the biggest reach of them all would be the DL from Penn State
-
jordo212000You take the best available. In that case it would be Berry
-
BR1986FB
Yeah, saw him going to the Colts at the end of the 1st round in a mock today.Big Red Monster wrote: I think everybody can agree that the biggest reach of them all would be the DL from Penn State -
Big Red MonsterSpielman is now hooking his wagon to Claussen since it would very much appear that Bradford is going to St Louis.
-
BR1986FBI want nothing to do with Clausen. After the ridicule we, as Browns fans, took for the Brady Quinn "crotch grab" photos, I can't deal with seeing that picture of Clausen all oiled up flexing, in Speedos with those two other dudes, that has been floating around the internet.
-
devil1197Berry.
Perfect scenario is Berry at #7 and McCoy with the 2nd rounder or trade up into the late 1st. -

gibby08I really don;t know what the big obsession is with Colt McCoy...
I would rather have Tim Tebow,Tony Pike,or Dan Lefevour -

You would give Tebow head, so I mean you're biasedgibby08 wrote: I really don;t know what the big obsession is with Colt McCoy...

KR1245Going with the majority here. Berry in round 1. Colt in round 2
-
devil1197
Maybe because he has truly impressed scouts recently without having to change major mechanics months before the draft.gibby08 wrote: I really don;t know what the big obsession is with Colt McCoy...

BR1986FBAs I mentioned on the Browns thread, Reghi had Colt McCoy on WKNR and the kid impressed the hell out of me. Nothing but confident.
I've heard knocks on his height (he's 6' 1 3/8, NOT the "under 6 foot" that some assclown...they know who they are but are too busy to see this because they are getting teabagged by Tebow, said about him). BTW...he only had ONE ball batted down which is one of the things that impressed scouts. -
FabioBerry all the way, if Eric Berry isn't there, then we trade down to a spot where we know Thomas will be available and maybe get a 4th round pick back out of the trade down. Not sure how much a 7th overall pick is, but we should be focusing on our secondary. With Brown on board, we are literally one safety away from having a good secondary.
