Your first concert?

We had this convo at work today and it was rather funny to hear some of the answers. My coworkers are very diverse regarding age and background.

Mine was R.E.M., Monster tour 1995. Starlake Amphitheater, Pittsburgh.

I remember thinking as a young kid....holy shit Michael Stipe is even weirder in person.

At another, IIRC the line-up was AC/DC as the opener, then Thin Lizzy, Eddie Money, Bob Welch, and Fleetwood Mac.

'NSYNC at Cleveland Browns Stadium in 2001. I was 16.

The summer I graduated high school I saw Poison, Aerosmith/KISS and Ozzfest at Polaris and Metallica's Summer Sanitarium tour at the Shoe. I've been going to rock concerts ever since.

My first real concert was Blink-182. Not sure if it was 2000 or 2001. That winter.
  • Con_Alma
Bruce Springsteen Born In The USA tour. Cleveland Municipal Stadium I think it was 1985. We were on the field in the 14th row. No opening band. No break 4 hour show.

Kiss, on Saturday, October 11, 1975, at Vets Memorial in Columbus. Some trivia about that show:

    - Kiss had been at Cadillac (MI) high school the day before, getting a big parade thru the town, giving a pep talk to their football team, and playing a show in the high school gym that night.

    - The forgettable warmup band was Black Sheep, led by lead singer Louis Grammatico - who achieved fame and fortune 18 months later as Lou Gramm of Foreigner.

Nice - and no surcharges! Sadly, three years of inflation, and my 1975 Kiss ticket was all the way up to $5.50 for only one name act.

Fab, at that KISS concert, were Warrant and Ted Nugent the warmup acts? If so, I was there. Buddy of mine had a ticket and talked me into going. I was 37, and I felt so old seeing all the young kids at the show.

OZZfest, 1999 at Polaris. My mom took me for my 13th birthday. Saw Slipknot before they released an album, and they were awesome (And I'm not a slipknot fan). Also saw my first pair of tits that concert.

Fairly confident this was mine as well. I know it was mid 90s.

Ha I just paid $80 for 2 people in GA seats to see them 20 years later... (have seen them a few other times over the last few years locally). They still command a price
