Did you miss the part where I said people prefer Air BnB accommodations compared to standard hotels?

again ..this has been established... they expect 16,000 rooms for 50,000 guests. 17,000>16,000.

This article claims the RNC is expecting 50,000 out of town guests.

17,000 rooms though should be more than enough!

I could be a dick and destroy you for offering your opinion as fact like you did to me.. but i like irony too much.

    3.1 guests per room?

And that's not even tackling the idea that some people will prefer a BnB experience to a hotel experience.

You can't "destroy" anything in this thread.

3.1 guests per hotel room. Ever traveled for work with colleagues? Did you put 3.1 people in one room?

It doesn't matter how many rooms there are in a 45 minute radius. I can pretty much guarantee anyone going to the RNC isn't staying at a Budget Hotel or in a part of town they don't feel safe. The number of rooms that matter are 4-5 star hotels rooms in the area. If their counting a Red Roof Inn or Holiday Inn the 17,000 rooms is an inflated stat.

Stop! You're making too much sense.

Or that not every hotel room in a 45 minute radius will be filled exclusively with people there for the RNC.

So you think they're saying there will be an average of three people per room? Not happening. 16000 rooms will accommodate about 30,000. The rest will be staying in private quarters, or farther out.

The 2016 Republican National Convention requires approximately 16,000 hotel rooms to accommodate the estimated 50,000 visitors who will convene in Cleveland

im not disputing people will stay in private housing... im saying a house 45 minutes away for 1600 a night is a tough sell when there's other lodging available.

Do you really think this means what you're pretending it means, instead of just admitting you're wrong? What it means, of course, is they need that many rooms to accommodate those staying in hotels, knowing that a lot of others will be staying in private residences.

Hell, in the two hours we've been talking about it, the price went from $1200 to $1600.

The neighbors house was already booked for $1200 a night. Another posted for $1600 (5 br, 3 bath w/ a fucking pool btw)

Zwick was amazed (dumbest thing he's ever heard), had a really fucking hard time understanding it.

    Got slapped around.

Implied that 3.1 people will fill all 16k hotel rooms in Cleveland.

    Probably realized that was dumb.

Concedes that people will pay for better accommodations 45 min away, because why the fuck not?

Depends on what kind of lodging you're talking about. If I'm a wealthy out-of-stater who'd want to attend an event like this with like-minded friends and have money to burn, I'd pay 1600 for a house LONG BEFORE I'd look into what I'd guess would be a lot of that 17000 hotel rooms in the area. Just mentioning the number of rooms doesn't take quality into effect, as in what percentage of said rooms are 4- and 5-star establishments and what percentage are the sort of "no tell motel" where you'll be hearing fucking and drug deals going down through paper-thin walls? I'd guess the average rich dude would rather overpay for a house than get a cheap room in a bad/slummy part of an unfamiliar city.

2 different houses. Try to keep up old man.

Lets say it's only 5 people in that big ass $1600 a night house. $960 each for 3 nights. That ain't shit.

uh huh lol you're so full of shit. I didn't imply anything.. The article expresses the numbers. To you, they're bullshit. tough shit I guess? Doesn't coincide with your narrative.
  • Automatik
    There is no narrative.

3.1 people per room. That's not happening. Fact.
