Doesn't understand that some people in this world simply don't care how much some things cost.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1790974 wrote:Well the original website I read overstated Cleveland's occupancy. It looks like 17,000 expands the radius quite a bit to encompass 45 minute drive. I could see people renting houses 45 minutes out instead of obscure hotels 45 min out.
My girlfriend nannies for a very wealthy family in Chicago. They flew her and I out to the Ritz Carlton in Miami. First class tickets both ways. We had our own suite. Everything we ate and drank they paid for. Literally didn't spend a dime. They easily spent $5k on us coming to that vacation with them. And she nannied for maybe 6 hours total the entire 4 days.
Some people just don't care about money. Some smart guy 45 minutes outside of Cleveland understands that and got $1200 for his house. Not sure why it's so difficult to understand that rich people spend money. -
AutomatikThe lengths people go regarding having someone else watch/raise their kids is absurd. My friend's g/f is a live in nanny, she's very foreign, no papers....basically a shady au pair setup. She pays for nothing. During the summer when her kids aren't at schools he lives in their baller beach house in the Hamptons, watches them a few times a month when they come of the weekend. It's insane.

People with fuck you money don't rent $1600 houses 45 minutes away. They're staying somewhere much nicer than that. To me.. that house is a tough sell in its location and price.SportsAndLady;1790976 wrote:Doesn't understand that some people in this world simply don't care how much some things cost.

For the hell of it, at lunch I asked my brother in law who is a lawyer at Willkie Farr in DC if he was coming up for the RNC since hes a staunch conservative. He isn't, but has friends of his who are. All are staying downtown. All have more money than anyone on this site guaranteed. I'd have to imagine most just like them them are staying downtown too. No ones voluntarily leaving the area and those with the money you speak of, sure as hell aren't hunting for rooms. -

Glad to know your one friend speaks for the entire market demand of people attending the RNC.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1790988 wrote:For the hell of it, at lunch I asked my brother in law who is a lawyer at Willkie Farr in DC if he was coming up for the RNC since hes a staunch conservative. No matter how much money anyone has, it doesn't change the fact that there are far more people coming than hotel rooms. Ten thousand or more will be staying in private residences. People WILL leave the immediate area, as they'll have no choice.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1790988 wrote:For the hell of it, at lunch I asked my brother in law who is a lawyer at Willkie Farr in DC if he was coming up for the RNC since hes a staunch conservative. But my friend's brother's friend told me this! -
SportsAndLadyHey guys I just asked my co worker who's a pretty staunch republican if he's going to the RNC. He's not but his brother is. He said that he just spent $1500 on an air BnB an hour away.
This disproves Zwick's brother in law!!!
Zwick: see how stupid generalizing an entire group of people based on the answer of one person close to you is? -

The idea is those with the most money already have the rooms downtown. 5000 rooms downtown equal 15-16000 of the estimated crowd. 30% taken care of right off the bat. That still leaves the remaining crowd to 12000 hotel rooms to choose from in just as close, or closer distance. Theres more hotel rooms than expected guests that are closer than that house ad is closer... do you think any hotel rooms 45 minutes away are even approaching 1600 a night?queencitybuckeye;1790992 wrote:No matter how much money anyone has, it doesn't change the fact that there are far more people coming than hotel rooms. How many rooms do you think are in the hotel inventory of the entire area?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1790997 wrote:The idea is those with the most money already have the rooms downtown. 5000 rooms downtown equal 15-16000 of the estimated crowd. 30% taken care of right off the bat. Surprisingly, you got this about correct. Next question, what is the average guests per room? How many people does that mean all hotels in a 45 minute radius can accommodate?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1791002 wrote:this has already been established. 17,000 rooms in a 45 minute radius. -
