Cecil the lion

This.... if they are not human why do you need/want the parts, and if they are human why are you killing them in the first place. This is disgustingly nauseating, when you consider that this is mostly about irresponsible behavior and convienience. How disgusting of an animal do you have to be to defend the selling of murdered baby parts?
Of course women have a right to their bodies, but with rights come responsibilities. Take ownership of that. You have a right and a duty to protect yourself...from an irresponsible "lover"...not an innocent, vulnerable baby.
Why do half the women in this country buy that "progressive" horseshit? I am thankful that the other half still are strong, empowered, moral, and ethical people who understand their unique role and welcome the responsibility. You don't need Democrats filling your head with victimhood...not if you believe in yourself.Always the republicans who care so much about abortion but don't give 2 shits about the babies once they are born.
Are you a woman? or are you a helpless victim? ...a Lionness or ewe? Get on the right side of this before you lose all self respect.
I love animals...the guy should be punished to the full extent of the law to the extent he is guilty, and I don't mind our government helping to return him to the proper African authorities for him to face justice..... but for God's sake...keep it in perspective. -

It is legal for a mother to execute the baby on the legal basis that it is not a person. However, if someone kills the mother and the baby dies, that person can be charged with a double murder. Is the baby a person or not?Ytowngirlinfla;1743630 wrote:It's not murder. Yes I'm an animal because women have the right to do what they want with their bodies. How about you raise and pay for all the babies that aren't wanted. Always the republicans who care so much about abortion but don't give 2 shits about the babies once they are born. -

I don't get it either. 50k to bag a lion definitely not normal. Seems like a lot of money. Perhaps a specific lion was targeted? But I would not know the going rate on bagging a lion. I am not a hunter. There are people that hunt because they enjoy it and I don't have a problem with using them to control animal populations. Hunting to protect ones livelihood (livestock/crops) makes sense to me. Or for food. People wishing him to be raped in an African prison or have his head mounted on a wall are not normal either.Mulva;1743648 wrote:I will never understand trophy hunting. Seems like you'd have to have some serious issues with power/control/inadequacy to be into that sort of thing. Paying $50,000 for permission to kill something is not normal behavior. -

When it comes to the right of women to do what they want with their own bodies I would start with repealing laws against women selling their bodies for sex or ingesting certain controlled substances. It's not however the right of a women to determine what is done to another humans body.Ytowngirlinfla;1743630 wrote:It's not murder. Many people would be more than willing to put forth their financial resources to give a baby a chance at life. In or outside the womb. That however is not the business planned parenthood is in. Chopping up and killing a baby in the womb may be legal but commercializing human body parts is not. Its disgusting and reprehensible to watch a fellow human being identify human parts and their possible commercial value while picking through them in a pie dish. Identifying specific organs, sex, and crunching bones. Its clear with what has been released so far that planned parenthood is engaged in the commercialization of abortion which is in direct violation of the law.
You are a women and have two kidneys. You only need one to live. You are free to donate one. You are not free to sell it. Again you are not totally free to do what you want with your own body. Because all laws are based on morality. You can't sell your body for sex (except in a few local jurisdictions), organs, or ingest certain controlled substances freely because of the negative impact the activity will have the others in society. There is is moral reason why there are laws prohibiting the commercialization of human organs/tissue.
If men watched a video of the clean up of body parts after an IED they would be more inclined to choose peace. If a women watched a video of a baby being carved up and cleaned from a womb she would be more inclined to choose life. Even more so in the case of an individual with the power of an individual decision. This is the reason why there is resistance to requiring a women to view a sonogram. There is money to be made. People fret about the military industrial complex and rightfully so. But an industrial complex just as sinister has developed and it is preying on the most innocent and defenseless among us. -

on a side note, the one guide was named Honest Trymore Ndlovu. and while the non endangered lion was killed, 5 endangered elephants were.

supermanJust love the Democrat rhetoric. "The government should have no say when it comes to a woman's body." Then they turn around and vote for Obamacare, which ultimately gives the government a say in everybody's medical treatment.

Zimbabweans express surprise over foreign concern for slain lion amid economic woes
"By FARAI MUTSAKA, Associated Press
HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — While the death of a protected lion in Zimbabwe has caused outrage in the United States — much of it centered on the Minnesota dentist who killed the animal — most in Zimbabwe expressed a degree of bafflement over the concern.
The discovery that Cecil, the star of Zimbabwe national park had been lured out and killed by American bow hunter Walter James Palmer has resulted in online anger and protests at his dental clinic.
Outside Zimbabwe's environmental and activist circles, however, the reaction been muted.
"It's so cruel, but I don't understand the whole fuss, there are so many pressing issues in Zimbabwe — we have water shortages, no electricity and no jobs — yet people are making noise about a lion?" said Eunice Vhunise, a Harare resident. "I saw Cecil once when I visited the game park. I will probably miss him. But honestly the attention is just too much."
An economic meltdown over the last few years has closed many companies and left two thirds of the population working in the informal economy while battling acute water and electricity shortages.
Most people questioned in downtown Harare hadn't actually heard about the lion and said they were too busy trying to a living to care about it."

he is a scumbag for illegally killing a lion, I have no problem at all killing a lion that is a threat to kill people.Al Bundy;1743736 wrote:You want to kill dogs, but you call the guy who killed a lion a "scumbag"...lol
I would have a problem with people who bring pit bulls or lions into their neighborhood. -
HitsRusFor once I agree with Isadore.... So many more important things to Zimbabwe then a poached lion( as tragic as that us to animal lovers). But it underscores what we are focused on... Or are being led to focus on.
With all due respect to friendfromlowery:
Focus on the dead lion... Not the selling of human fetus body parts.
Focus on the racism of a handful of white cops killing black people or the confederate flag, instead of rampant inner city black on black crime.
The perspective is so skewed , I feel like we are being manipulated. -

Baiting animals with either a carcass or water, what they callled a "canned hunt" in Africa happens thousands of times a day there. That is how you hunt over there.Scarlet_Buckeye;1743628 wrote:Exactly what part of tying a dead animal's carcass to a truck and dragging it around to entice/lure another lion (Cecil) out of it's habitat is "likely an accident"? -

You dont know if the hunter did anything illegal. Baiting is legal so as long as he had his permits he did nothing wrong.isadore;1743738 wrote:he is a scumbag for illegally killing a lion, I have no problem at all killing a lion that is a threat to kill people.

At worst, poached. But obviously something was not completely jake here. The guy should be returned to face and answer to local authorities.Spock;1743746 wrote:The lion wasnt poached. THe hunter had all legal tags and was shot on land allowed to hunt on.
The story itself is not worthy of my attention. The reaction to the story is what grabs my attention.
ISIS is pulling people out of their beds and executing them, yet we are demanding action over an isolated, local matter of possible poaching. SMH. -
Belly35Our society and society around the world are num to the overal violence, killing and hate. Can individual become so insensitive to the killing of humans... I've live that and the answer is yes...
All society have to get back to basic compassion for other humans regardless of ethic differences. Society has to fight back against murders. The killing of a lion is just that one dead lion for profiteering and should be place somewhere below ISIS, plan parenthood, African women raped and killed Bobo ?, women sex slavery, drugs, gangs killings and the list is endless ...
but instead we we turn our back on the difficult issue of the slaughtering of people ... . The hunter paid the government approved guides, don't blame the hunter... It's a fucking cat -
Laley23Hunting is a $200M industry in Africa. They usually target animals who have been kicked out of the tribe and are alone now for survival or animals who can no longer reproduce. While I have a problem with hunter for sport in general, especially animals who are endangered (I consider any animal in Africa endangered lol) at least the "good" guides, etc try to do it in a way that won't hurt the population in the long run. Animals who have been kicked out are on a death sentence anyway.
What happened here is awful. Luring a lion off of illegal hunting grounds and onto legal hunting grounds is horrific, to saw nothing about the cheap tactics used. -

It is legal to take a carcass into a sanctuary and drag it to draw an animal outside to its slaughter. No I don't that is legal. And this guy already has a criminal record for doing the same stuff with a bear in the US. -
