I believe they did in this situation too. When I read the transcripts, I believe it was 2 other ADAs asking the questions.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1726854 wrote:In typical cases his assistants present cases. Are you sure about high profile cases like this? -

If you believe any of this you're delusional as fuck! Yes the marches by the people that wanted equal rights were non violent the reaction by whites on the other hand was violent as hell. You keep trying to throw politics into it when this has nothing to do with it. There were people that were animals and reacted violently in the 60's just like there are people that are animals and are acting violently in 2015. Blacks are just to dumb to see that they are imitating the actions of their oppressors from the past.Belly26898 wrote:I am going to assume that you have some knowledge of the Civil Rights Movement, in general many of the marches and protest were peaceful non-violent had a direct reason and a goal for the march, an ideology freedom for all.
Most of the violent was a reaction against the movement by Democrats Political Party and Officials. That you most likely support today. YOU CHUMP.
Two Black Leadership MLK and Malcolm X had the same intention, wants and idea of Equal Rights but with different method to achieve those goals.
MLK was Christian non-violent approach where as Malcolm X a Muslim had a violent take all, violent, separatist mentality. Note: There are aspects of Malcolm X that I really supported and his straight forward understanding of the Democrat political agenda for Blacks was true then and even truer today.. You Chumps
You showed just one picture of violence of the 60s, sorry bro this was a pic from the Little Rock Nine, where the school board supported the supreme court Brown vs Brown but the Southern Democrat State Party headed by Democrat Harry Byrd refused comply with the ruling.
Should we post today recorded youtube videos, police and media reports of Black hater beating Whites. Will that simulate more hate? What good does that provide?
Todays Black and White racial separation is wider that ever, race relationship is stressed more now that the 60s …. Ask yourself why?
Between the violent Muslin Leadership Malcolm X and Southern Democrats aggressive objection to the movement only violence was the answer in their mentality back in the 60's.
Today riots are violence for profit, stealing looting by criminal thugs doing what they believe is their learned entitlement rights, taking from others…
If this is what today Black Leaders think is proper and justified then they are no better than the racist southern democrat of the 60 and the terrorist Muslim leadership of today.
Also do you honestly think that there aren't more pics of the violence from the peaceful 60's? -

As expected, no one actually thinks these officers are going to get second degree murder as the evidence doesn't even come close. The prosecutor is in hot water for rushing to judgement on the case. Can't wait for Zwick's ignorant response and justification. -

yeah the fact she probably barely considered the police investigation isn't good for discovery issues and in regards to exculpatory evidence. its almost a defense attorney's wet dream.sleeper;1727390 wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/06/politics/freddie-gray-baltimore-knife-marilyn-mosby-prosecution/index.html

I don't get why people are ignoring that overcharging is a common tactic to force plea deals. The prosecutor can drop some charges at any time, at least prior to trial.sleeper;1727390 wrote: As expected, no one actually thinks these officers are going to get second degree murder as the evidence doesn't even come close. She can drop charges but she can't downgrade a charge; such as bringing a manslaughter charge instead of Murder 2.gut;1727469 wrote:I don't get why people are ignoring that overcharging is a common tactic to force plea deals. Your right; I must have missed those. Either way, I'll stand by my initial comments that only the driver gets the manslaughter charge and the rest get off without a scratch.gut;1727559 wrote:I thought she included manslaughter charges....involuntary and vehicular. -

Driver may get manslaughter, although I think that is going to be a stretch. If you can't prove a "rough ride", then you have to argue the new restraint policy implemented just days before gets you to gross negligence (which I don't think it will).sleeper;1727578 wrote:Your right; I must have missed those. The false arrest is apparently in conflict with the police investigation - will come down to the whether the knife is illegal or not, which you'd think would be fairly black & white when the knife and law are presented to jury for review.
Since the DA appears to be arguing the injury happened in the van, it doesn't look like you're getting anyone for excessive force (and there may just not be a case there if he had no other physical injuries or bruises).
The only charge I could see that might have some legs is if they refused medical attention or took too long. But if he was already fatally injured then that isn't manslaughter. -

Glory DaysBaltimore Case Is Full of Conflicts, Lawyers for Officers Contend
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/09/us/justice-department-begins-civil-rights-inquiry-into-baltimore-police.html?_r=0
The motion filed by the lawyers for the six police officers attacks Ms. Mosby in three principal areas: It accuses her of using “inciting rhetoric” in announcing the charges that betrayed a motivation other than the pursuit of justice, constituting a violation of state rules of professional conduct.
The defense lawyers also argue that Ms. Mosby was wrong to assert that the arrest of Mr. Gray was itself illegal, suggesting that regardless of whether the knife that he possessed was lawful under Maryland state law, it was illegal under Baltimore city ordinances, and for that reason the officers had reasonable grounds to arrest.
But the sharpest vitriol in the document was reserved for attacking the integrity of Ms. Mosby and her office for alleged conflicts of interest in the case, including the lawyers’ claim that Ms. Mosby may have brought the charges to help her husband, Nick Mosby, a city councilman whose district was hit with rioting and violence.
“It is inconceivable that Mrs. Mosby was not influenced by the challenges presented to her husband as a community leader of neighborhoods that were literally ‘up in flames,’” the defense lawyers wrote.
They also asserted that Billy Murphy, a prominent Baltimore lawyer who is representing the Gray family, has been “a close friend, financial supporter and attorney for Mrs. Mosby.”
The defense lawyers also said that the state’s attorney’s office should be recused because a top prosecutor in the office “is in a relationship” with a local television reporter, who they say may be called as a witness. -

True dat ..........paid protesters are everywhere, including Ferguson, MO

sleeperArrests are way down in Baltimore as well. Seems a lot of their police officers are now doing the bare minimum and engaging in reactive policing vs. proactive policing. I predicted this would happen. Cops are now thinking about protecting their own interests rather than the communities and the less they have to put themselves out on the line, the less risk it is to them to face punishment for not handling heat of the moment situations perfectly.
