Protection of the congregation
-
Belly35I can't disclose my resources but it is a known fact that churches are a soft target for the next round of violence. Whether via terrorist group, crazed individual, distraught teen/adult the sher numbers of people and Sunday school units makes churches prime target statements ( crazed or distraught individuals or terrorist group and or individual terrorist supporter )
Is your church taking the prepared steps to protect the congregation? -
Old RiderI work for an insurance company that specializes in church coverage and I can tell you that more and more churches are allowing their members to carry weapons to church. I have met with numerous pastors across Indiana and Ohio who have their conceal carry permits and carry their weapon while preaching!
Churches are beginning to create "crisis intervention" teams with armed officers and members who have additional gun and crisis intervention training to deal with these types of things. Its sad, but nobody is exempt from the crazies in this world!! -

Sure you can. If it's a known fact, why can't you disclose? -
Con_AlmaAbout 9-10 months ago the administrations of parochial schools were notified that they may be a target of aggression and possible terrorist activity. Local FBI offices contacted them.

I'm sure there have been some threat's that got on law endorsements radar specifically regarding churches, and the gossip has made them take a life of their own.salto;1690621 wrote:Sure you can. If it's a known fact, why can't you disclose?
Referring to it as, "the next round of violence" is crazy though. The world is a damn safe place in 2014, compared to any other time in recorded history. -

have they taken any action...they should heed the warning.Con_Alma;1690625 wrote:About 9-10 months ago the administrations of parochial schools were notified that they may be a target of aggression and possible terrorist activity. Local FBI offices contacted them. -
Con_AlmaI don't have any idea. One would sure think so.

ernest_t_bassThis is the first I've heard of this.

My professional sources have indicated that four of the larger Congregation in this area have been visited by I will call them “suspicious” individual with government list linkage, more that once in the past 8 months. This seems to be a increased activity in some areas.ernest_t_bass;1690729 wrote:This is the first I've heard of this. -
friendfromlowryI also hadn't heard of this, but it doesn't surprise me. Where are you truly safe anymore.

I would say you are truly safe in many, many places.friendfromlowry;1690788 wrote:I also hadn't heard of this, but it doesn't surprise me. Where are you truly safe anymore. -
SpockI attend a very large church and they have a guarded stage for the past year or so

I guess it'd depend on your definition of truly safe vs mine.thavoice;1690790 wrote:I would say you are truly safe in many, many places. -

Most violence i committed by someone you actually know, so a random act of violence is very, very rare.friendfromlowry;1690796 wrote:I guess it'd depend on your definition of truly safe vs mine.
but if you want to live in fear, go for it. -
AutomatikConsider the source.
OP also believes in "scaler energy" healing. -

Who said I was living in fear? I live a normal life just like you do. But I'm not naive to think you're truly safe wherever you go anymore.thavoice;1690799 wrote:Most violence i committed by someone you actually know, so a random act of violence is very, very rare.

thavoiceAlso Belly, service members were also warned about random acts towards them and their families.
Will we get attacked again?
We sure will.
When? Where? How?
Impossible to say.
Since 9/11 there hasnt been any foreign supported attacks. I think if some group like the taliban or whomever had legit hold over people we would have seen a number of them already. The "long wolf" attacks are more likely like the boston bombings.
To live in fear or be worried? I wont live like that. More likely to be struck by lightening or falling off a ladder and getting killed than by a terrorist attack. -

You asked where are you truly safe. I would say.....quite a few places. Most actually.friendfromlowry;1690805 wrote:Who said I was living in fear? I live a normal life just like you do. But I'm not naive to think you're truly safe wherever you go anymore. -

And I said it'd depend on your definition of truly safe, and you rambled about me living in fear. If I turned on the 5pm news, I'd probably hear about break-ins, stores being held up, etc. Off the top of my head in the past couple weeks, a couple has been robbed outside a casino, an elderly woman robbed outside of Kroger, a shooting outside the Dayton mall, people inside a coffee shop being held hostage for hours in Australia, and today a woman in Idaho was killed in a Wal Mart when her unprotected gun fell into the hands of a two year old.thavoice;1690808 wrote:You asked where are you truly safe. You seem to be thinking strictly terrorist attacks comparable to 9/11. My point was that even going somewhere like the store, you're not truly safe anymore. -

I get what you saying. I did misread it a little bit.friendfromlowry;1690809 wrote:And I said it'd depend on your definition of truly safe, and you rambled about me living in fear. Yeah, it can happen anywhere, no doubt about that, but when you look at it the probability is very, very small. -

Sounds like the safest place to be is not in church.thavoice;1690790 wrote:I would say you are truly safe in many, many places. -

You are safer today than at any time in your life, as violent crime has been and continues to be on the decline.friendfromlowry;1690788 wrote:I also hadn't heard of this, but it doesn't surprise me. Where are you truly safe anymore. -
