I would be all in if it works on verizon's network but I highly doubt that will be the case.

Just picked up the Lg G3 yesterday. Had the G2 for the past year until I broke the thing. Love this phone. It's pretty damn big but still comfortable to use.

I hope these leaks are bullshit. That phone is way too big.
Unfortunately, I think the leaks are accurate. This "shamu" has been rumored for a long time. My fingers are crossed that they come out with some smaller versions (rumored 4.6" and 5.2" to go along with the 5.9")

Yeah, I'm really hoping they will release a smaller version as well. Preferably 4.6" but I'd be fine with a 5.2" as well.

This looks promising since the Nexus X is all but confirmed at 5.9".

I'm really leaning towards sticking with the iPhone, though, unless one of these phones comes with a 64GB+ option.

I am a fan of Moto's new phones but if the Sony Z3 comes to Verizon, it will have my attention.

That phone does have my attention. Is it for sure coming to the US?

Take this with a huge grain of salt.

I'm curious how badly Sony mangles Android with their implementation. Hopefully they have a Motorola approach and just add a few things.

That is a good question. I do know they are one of the most developer friendly manufacturers. However, I am sure VZW will lock it down like all their other phones.

I think I'm going to go with the 32GB Moto X Pure Edition and switch to AT&T. It will be worth it to get a phone without carrier apps and updates directly from the Googles. The main reason I am switching is because Android L looks fantastic and I want it immediately after release.

I may end-up with the Moto X myself. The new Nexus is practically confirmed to be 6", and the Droid Turbo 5.2" (but even bigger with dual speakers and possibly capacitative buttons).

I'm TIRED of waiting for a high-end phone that isn't over 5". You'd think there's a market for that, but apparently the manufacturers are telling us there isn't. Seems like yesterday when a 4.3" screen was breaking the mold with a "huge" screen.

The Droid Turbo looks pretty sweet. That battery is massive.

5.2" is already plenty big, and with capacitative buttons even bigger. Certainly bigger than I'm really willing to tolerate (I'm in the 4.6-4.8" camp, as well).

Otherwise not a fan of no SD card, but I can manage. Although I'm hearing rumors of $725 retail, and I don't know if I can stomach that. Don't figure I need that much power [currently], and I may just go cheaper mid-tier or even used for a year or two until my perfect phone comes along. Why I'm leaning toward the first Moto X, maybe.

What about the Moto G? Only $180 off contract.

1gig of ram just isn't enough (I run a TON of widgets), nor is 16gigs of internal storage. I need a minimum of 1.5gigs of ram, and probably 2. I was hoping for 3gigs to be "future proof" for the next 3 years or so, but all those options are bigger screens than I want.

I might be able to find a new Moto X still for $300 or so, or can probably grab used for $200. Still looks like the best value to me for a display <5".

Decided it's either the first gen Moto X or the Turbo. If I don't like the bigger screen/dimensions of the Turbo it's probably going to be impossible to justify the extra $325, but the extra ram and battery would be really nice to have.

Thinking the $325 goes a long way toward the tablet I'm looking at - $1400 would be a lot to spend on a tablet and phone. On the other hand, if I can warm to the larger Turbo then maybe I don't really need a tablet.

Getting ready to buy our new phones soon. We are buying an unlocked Moto X and an unlocked iPhone 6. Luckily I have a $100 gift card to the Apple Store and get 5% cashback through discover when ordering online. We can also sell our current iphone 5's for about $200 each and I get a $200 phone reimbursement from work. All told it should be about $625 + tax for two completely unlocked and off-contract phones that we plan on using for 3-4 years. Plus we'll get about $37 from discover cashback.

I'm in the market for a phone with a BIGGER screen than an IPhone 5c I've been having real trouble with My eyes lately and want something easier to read Facebook and such on, Any help would be great
  • justincredible
Literally any new phone will be bigger than the 5/5c/5s.

The Nexus 6 was officially announced. It's just a giant Moto X, as expected. Blah.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered our phones. I went with this configuration on my Moto X.

Nice choice. I love the look of the natural backs.
