  Some could argue that making 40k a year with no responsibility and summers off a success. I wouldn't but I can see how some would. Especially if you live in a small town where 40k is a high wage.

  You dumb fucks - it's not 1988 anymore...teachers with 10 - 15 yrs (which is probably what CCR has in) easily pull down 65 - 70k. Granted not a great amount but decent compensation for not a whole lotta stress.

  Public school teachers have to deal with a lot of crap, more so the parents than the students.
  
  From a financial standpoint, they are easily in the top 25% of their community. And with full pension and insurance benefits.
  
  My father has a $100,000/year package in retirement. There aren't many private sector workers that have that.
  
  And he's 64. I hope he lives to 94 and enjoys every moment, and lives up to his contract.

  We live in the wealthiest country for overall economic disparity. Our poor people have iPads and Playstation 3's. If anyone is hungry, there are dozens of charities that will care for them. We donate a considerable amount, just to take care of a few dogs a month.

  I'm not sure what you mean. Anyone can go to college if they want to. My parents made enough to where I got zero federal assistance, but couldn't afford to help me out. I'm 52k in debt as a result.

  Some may not find it worth it to spend that much on school and put themselves in that type of debt, especially if they come from an environment where their family members were held back by debt.
