Another pit bull kills a person thread

    There wasn't a need for a correction. Golden retrievers are bred to be friends of toddlers and other children. The next Golden Retriever that I see abusing a child will be the first.

    I said this exact same thing last time we had a thread on the topic but apparently it didn't register with you: just because they're way more rare and you PERSONALLY don't witness a golden retriever attack doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Really faulty logic for someone who thinks they're brilliant.

    Lol saying pit bulls are more aggressive than golden retrievers is understandable.

    Saying that golden retrievers neverrrr attack unprovoked is flat out wrong,how can you even argue that. especially when presented multiple instances.

    Also for the record,id rather deal with a pit than a Dalmatian. Dalmatians are the meanest down right nasty dogs ive been around.

    Dalmatians definitely have a piss poor temperament.

    Whatever the breed as a responsible individual, concerned owner and respect for your pet... Training your pet should be a priority.

    Ive only been around a handful and theyve all been pretty nasty. I wont go as far as MB and say all of them are,but then ones ive beem around have been.

    Been bit by 4 dogs in my life. Bit as in not nipped playin around w one but actually bit. And 3 of em were dalmatians. Needless to say,i avoid them now haha

    Jack Russell's are nuts too. Mine that got attacked is a total nutcase always barking and running around, and poorly disciplined since we got him when I just turned 10. Luckily I was able to train my Pomeranian that our family got 3 years ago and he is awesome but Belly is right, all dogs need good training and discipline

    Man that's intense, what other breed bit you?

    The scariest particular dog I've been around was a German Shephard, but I didn't get bit.

    A newfoundland i think is what its called? Big fluffy furred dog.

    Scariest dog is probably my friends rott, 160ish lbs, But once you get to know em hes a big sissy. But still lol hes huge

    I've got a nice scar from a Dalmation when I was younger, they are definitely up there on the list. Pit Bulls are pretty much how in all you raise them but they still have that nasty temperament that can come out at any instance no matter how good of dogs they are. MY brother has two of them and they are really kind dogs but they still could snap especially with how protective they are. Nastiest dogs I've ever been around by far are Cane Corso's. 200 plus pounds with a huge head and jaws on them and they can be vicious guard dogs. My cousin had multiple ones and I wouldn't even get out of the car unless he was out there with them and I knew them for years. They would give you the death stare like you were a meal lol Hell they used to kill Lions back in the gladiator days.

    A buddy of mines son's basketball went into the neighbors yard. The kid jumped the fence and the neighbors Cane Corso got bit him. The dog pretty much filleted the kids forearm open.

    No, I've seen pits be aggressive around me, and I've seen many pits attack my dog. Fortunately my "pompous ass" isn't very afraid of dogs. I can handle them fairly well, which I need to around pits constantly. I don't have that problem with golden retrievers.

    Golden retrievers are bred to be friendly, you have to make them aggressive with poor owner skills are flat-out animal abuse. With pits it is the other way, it takes special skills to make them friendly with other dogs....that doesn't make them bad dogs, it just makes them high maintenance due to their aggressive and protective nature.

    It isn't faulty logic to point out that pit are naturally aggressive and goldens aren't. Then again, I don't have an Arizona law degree or beat my animals so perhaps I wouldn't know.

    You don't have to because you are putting Arizona law logic in my mouth. I never said that. I did say that Dalmatians have behaviors that require extra attention...similar to pits, but they aren't quite as powerful.

    I'm curious if some of you have ever been around dogs your entire lives. If you've only been around 4 then you don't know much. I grew up with them and certainly breeding/abusive behavior dictate how a dog responds to those outside their pack. You have to absolutely abuse a pure-bred golden retriever to make it aggressive towards a human, hell I've never seen one aggressive towards our dog that sniffs out aggression.

    Any idiot knows there are differences among breeds, but I might be a bit kind in calling out people for being idiots, more like "we know nothing at all."

    I don't know about that, but I do know that ignorant people tend to raise ignorant dogs, and post ignorant links. My favorite is Rmolin's that has a "stock" photo of a typical golden retriever, when the article states the dog weighs 100 lbs....as if Golden's get nearly that big.

    A close second is Arizona boy's link to some street in Chesterfield County I've never heard of (and we live across the river from Chesterfield Co.) and the evidence is from the owner saying, "uh, he's a golden retriever (yeah, right), and he's mean!"). This is likely a mixed breed owned by a hoodrat in the Manchester area.

    And you're still standing by golden retrievers alllll being flat out unable to be aggressive naturally eh? Just bc theyre usually good tempered dogs doesnt mean every single one acts accordingly. How is that hard to comprehend?

    Compared to you guys, yes. I actually read the links. It was unclear if any of those dogs appeared to be pure bred Goldens, and it was mostly initial reports without any verification. If any person looks at legitimate reports of unprovoked attacks they will see that there are breeds that are over representative. And those that are non-existent.

    You Rmolin and Arizona boy can circle jerk all you like, a golden retriever will not harm a soul unless they are raised by idiots that abuse them. There isn't a mean bone in their bodies. If they are raised by idiots that abuse them, they can act like any other animal (including humans). That isn't true with other breeds. Again for you idiots that doesn't make them bad dogs, but it does make them more challenging to raise socially around humans and other dogs.

    Is that hard to comprehend?

    Awwwww apparently we've hurt your feelings? You made a dumb ass comment I refuted it and instead of manning up you throw a tantrum. Very typical to say the least. Are you not aware that pit bulls are the flavor of the time period in regards to aggressive dogs? First it was German Shepherds then Rotweillers now its pit bulls. Now don't assume that I'm saying that pit bulls aren't an aggressive breed because I'm not. But the same way you spout off about the golden retrievers going bad based off of their environment the same can be said for pit bulls.
