2014 Grammy's

I'm with I92 on this one. For whatever reason, I cannot stand Macklemore. Just not my kind of rap, I guess.

Really wish Lana Del Rey or Coldplay performed tonight. Haven't watched much of the awards since there was basketball on earlier, but most of the winners tonight are things I'd never listen to. Why is Bruno Mars a thing? I don't get it. Then again, I'm sure there are a lot of people who feel that way about hip hop.

I think its a pretty good beat/rhythm and am indifferent on the message (in terms of caring, but do agree with it).
Too much talk rap and while it has a good beat.....I can never make it through the song as it just annoys me. I rarely delve into the meanings behind the words.....so I'm indifferent on all that. Just not my thing.

Papa don't Preach might've fit better.

Some pretty bad performances to end the show. Will not watch again, most likely. To answer the original question of the thread, I really don't. I used to be able to get into this show when I was a bit younger, but I really don't care anymore in the slightest. I probably would've enjoyed it more if I didn't think most of the live performances sucked, but overall, I doubt it.

The Academy Awards are the only award show worth watching, in my opinion.

Despite getting zero considerations from the rap Grammys they are up for 9 awards tonight.
This is why you're a douchy idiot.

Lorde is a weirdo. I enjoy her songs, but she looks ridiculous when she performs, and her clothing and makeup choices make her look like a 35 year old rather than a 16 year old.

Beyoncé killed it, which is nothing new. She is the best pop performer out there, IMO.

Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons was my favorite performance of the night, which seems to be a popular sentiment.

Katy Perry and Pink were pretty good. Taylor Swift sounded good. Her reaction at the end was funny to me, but it was the people around her who really had the best reactions.

Pharrell looked like Smokey the Bear, and I enjoyed his performance with Daft Punk.

I liked the Metallica performance, but only because that's my favorite song. James Hetfield didn't sound the greatest, though.

I liked the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performance. Not my favorite song, but the marriages were a cool moment. I think Kendrick Lemar should have won best rap album, but I also don't get the hate for Macklemore. The Heist is actually pretty good.

The last performance of the night was really good, but then the went ahead and cut it off. So that was rude.

She's even said herself that she looks like Golum when she performs. I'll cut her a bunch of slack because she's only 16.

Didn't like the weddings. Nothing more than a political move by the LGBT. Thought it was lame for a network to do this in primetime.

You haven't been paying attention. Small dose, then medium dose, then just force it down your throat....if you don't believe in it, its your fault for not believing what they believe. If you play nice, well give you tons of awards(Macklemore).

But there is no agenda being pushed here...I can't believe they were able to get Collins away from his team...

While I do not give a fuck what anyone does with their own life, I completely agree that forcing politics down the American public's throat in the middle of the proceedings last night was disgusting. I turned the channel immediately and it's a main reason why I won't watch again. The problem is, that's Hollywood. Everything is political. They can't just make a show.

I thought it was a touching moment. I am actually pretty neutral when it comes to gay marriage. My sister is gay, but you won't see me out there marching or campaigning. That said, I love her and want her to be happy. If that means she wants to get married, then I support it.
SportsAndLady;1572699 wrote:So basically you liked everything lol
Not really. There were some super boring performances that I ended up fast forwarding through.

And it's their fault for not believing what you believe then, right? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I don't see how last night's performance effected anyone in a negative way. If you didn't want to watch it, you could have turned the channel.

There are 2 reasons the rap community, so to speak, hates on Maclemore: he's white and he doesn't rap about money, drugs and women.

Has nothing to do with being in favor of or against gay marriage. It's the purposeful push of an agenda to an audience that is not there for that reason.
