Peculiar Eating Habits
-
ernest_t_bassThroughout your life, what have been some peculiar eating habits, or special recipes that you use, where others think you're weird. I don't have too many now, but have had some growing up.
- Used to crush up graham crackers into a cup, pour milk over them, eat with a spoon
- Used to keep a big jar of apple sauce in my car (college), and basically drink it on my way to and from basketball games.
- I often put a couple ice cubes in my coffee so I can drink it right away. -
thavoiceDotn know if its peculiar or not, but I wont drink milk if the SELL DATE is that day (or in the past) even though I know its supposed to be good for a little while yet.
-
justincredibleI used to put sugar in chili. My buddy used to put mayonnaise in chili.
Not sure that I do anything weird these days. -
Ironman92I turn my fresh pizza upside down (by slice) on the opposite side of the box and give it a little press or douse it with a napkin to degrease a bit.
I cut brats in half ( length wise) and then put 1/2 on the bun to eat. -
Fab4RunnerI put a Kraft single in my Spaghettio's with meatballs. Super white trash.
-
thavoiceIs eating the best part of the dish last wierd?
I wont tough the main course of my food until the rest is finished. -

Belly35Pickled Herring in Wine Sauce on a Ritz cracker is a great snack for watching football on TV ...
Eat Slow .. and enjoy the taste and flavor of the food -
Curly JI used to eat only one thing at a time then move on to the next item on the plate. I also had to smell my food before the first bite, then I would eat it.

I think it stems back to when I was a kid and I took a drink of spoiled milk and hurled so now I dont take that chance! -

Belly35I alway mix something into my mashed potatoes ...
corn, apple sause, green beans, peas, cut up meat .... almost like the mash potatoes is dip for something else -
OSHI thought it was normal to not drink milk that is near, on, or past the date on the carton/jug.
I've had numerous things mentioned to me that are different:
-- PB&J with a slice of cheese
-- PB and pickle sandwich (very good with chili)
-- PB and sweet onion sandwich
-- pouring milk on pie or cobbler
-- mashed potatoes and noodles (basically the noodles are the gravy)
-- Prison pad Thai (Ramen noodles, sriracha, and crunchy peanut butter)
Here in Kansas, it is "normal" to eat chili with some cinnamon roles... -
sportchamppsI think I'm going to make prison pad Thai tonight with some shrimp added sounds good for so e reason lol
-
like_that-I like to freeze my grapes (fantastic btw)
-When I ate too waffles back as a kid, I would put peanut butter on them
-I used to be put ketchup and plain yogurt on my rice as a kid. I still do put yogurt on it, but thats a turkish/mediterranean thing (cue COA's fail comment about turks)
-I sometimes chew gum while drinking beer
-I drench my pho with sriracha
-Frozen pineapple -
thavoiceI think back in the day the date they put on there was when you werent to drink it after that.....best if drank by....but now they have a sell by date so it is supposed to be good for awhile after thatOSH;1569629 wrote:I thought it was normal to not drink milk that is near, on, or past the date on the carton/jug.

I think so, I do the opposite. Might as well make sure I can finish the best part of the meal first.thavoice;1569556 wrote:Is eating the best part of the dish last wierd?

The place I get Pho from gives a side of hot pepper sauce to put on it as needed.like_that;1569648 wrote: -I drench my pho with sriracha -
Commander of AwesomeHummus on salads instead of salad dressing. Better for you, more filling, and taste is far superior to salad dressing. Hummus FTW.

Wendy's fries in a Wendy's frosty -

I did that before they changed the fries. Not a fan of the new fries as it is, so in the frosty was just bad news bears.Belly35;1569699 wrote:Wendy's fries in a Wendy's frosty -

Just mentioned this to The Wife and it was the same way in Nebraska where she grew up.OSH;1569629 wrote: Here in Kansas, it is "normal" to eat chili with some cinnamon roles... -
Fab4RunnerYou can dip almost any fry in chocolate ice cream and it's delicious. We had (have) no fast food in my hometown, but I would do that at the local diner when I was young.
