-
TedShecklerShows a glimpse of Oberyn, the Red Viper vs. The Mountain. So pumped for that.
-
gutNot having read the books, I didn't know what to make of most of that.
But seems like the dragons is all growed up.
And please don't make me wait a whole season for King Pube to die a horrible death. -
bases_loadedweiner...weiner party weiner party....love the show, but won't ever get to listen to the opening the same again.
-
Laley23Ive made this a TV Show ONLY thread, at the request of almost everyone from last year. Its OK to reference the books in the way Ted did above, but PLEASE dont make me thread-ban people for doing anything more.
If you want, you can start a thread which discusses the TV show versus the books...or hell, talk about only the books. I dont care. But dont bring it here. -
AutomatikThank you.
-
RotinajStarts tomorrow. Really looking forward to where the season goes. Hoping King Douchebag dies.
-
Manhattan BuckeyeThis will be the best season yet....we'll see what happens after that.
-
bases_loadedBeen watching the past seasons on HBO 2 all weekend as a refresher. They're so good every time
-
Laley23Can't wait to watch, unfortunately I have to wait until Monday night. Don't wanna watch hbo on a shitty hotel tv
-
bases_loadedMe too. So I'll be avoiding this thread after 9pm. Been watching the reruns all weekend on hbo2. So fucking good.
-
gutIf you guys need a quick fix, I think there's a 30 minute GoT special out there some where....should be under GoT under you're HBO on-demand. It's just 'ok', interesting to see some of the actors/actresses give their perspective on their character.
-
bases_loadedAriya is my favorite I think. Just told the Dog one day she's gonna stick a sword through his eye and out the back of his skull(even the 2nd time this weekend it's still good)
-
AutomatikAs expected, a slow episode, but I liked it. The Hound's chicken convo/scene was awesome.
-
gut
Slow? I guess in terms of raw action, maybe. But I thought it was a great opener...and thinking the whole time how crazy this season will be.Automatik;1601893 wrote:As expected, a slow episode, but I liked it. The Hound's chicken convo/scene was awesome.
The Dog had some great lines tonight.
On a related note...are the books this obsessed with gay sex or is that an HBO thing? -
Manhattan Buckeye
HBO. It upped the ante with the gay thing....there are references (implied, like Renly and Loras) but not much explicit. Lesbian sex, there's a slight bit more of that.gut;1601901 wrote:Slow? ZoltanI really liked this episode mainly because it focused on my favorite characters. There was no Littlefinger, Bran, Hodor, or Stannis and I didn't miss them at all.
-
AutomatikArya is becoming a cold little girl. I enjoy it.
Also, the kill from the Hound when he rammed that dudes face on the dagger....f'n brutal. -
gut
That's why I liked this one so much. Couldn't put my finger on it, but you're exactly right. Although I've not been a big fan of the Arya story line, but she's on her way to becoming a Manson (Dog) groupie.Zoltan;1601921 wrote:I really liked this episode mainly because it focused on my favorite characters. I've always liked Arya's story line. Geoffrey always entertains as well, but we didn't get much of him either. Someone pointed out to me that Ramsey was not in this episode, and he is a crazy bastard (literally!) that always brings the fun. So many ruthless nuts on this show.gut;1602045 wrote:That's why I liked this one so much. Couldn't put my finger on it, but you're exactly right. Lol, there's like 1/5 maybe as much gay sex shown as there is straight sex and that counts as obsessed?gut;1601901 wrote:Slow? I guess in terms of raw action, maybe. But I thought it was a great opener...and thinking the whole time how crazy this season will be.

Can't wait for Joffrey to die. -
Manhattan BuckeyeHBO has probably gone a bit too far with the nudity/sex stuff in general. It seems a bit like exploitation.
-
gut
Well, over 10% would be disproportionate, no? And HBO is always a little gratuitous, but I think your 1/5 estimate is low (you don't appear to be counting the lesbian scenes) relative to the number of people, as opposed to the same people in multiple scenes.I Wear Pants;1602116 wrote:Lol, there's like 1/5 maybe as much gay sex shown as there is straight sex and that counts as obsessed?
And if you want to talk gay sex (real and implied) relative to other tv shows, HBO is clearly pushing the envelope and is clearly doing so intentionally (why I asked if the books were like that).
