What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

  • ohiobucks1
The Fate of the Furious = 10/10.

    Pure perfection. My order of Fast movies now goes = 5, 8, 1, 7, 6, 3, 4, 2.

There are so many things to like about this movie. The only and I mean only thing I didn't like about it, is that they clearly are being paid by Coca Cola to advertise their product.

Wow, interesting. Looks like I have to go see this over the weekend.

I can say that I have seen the Fast/Furious movies, all of them once. I can say that they weren't terrible (except for maybe Tokyo Drift, whichever one that was).

I can also say (with as much apologies to anyone this may offend) that the best thing that happened to that franchise was Paul Walker passing. It went from some average movies to cult iconic films for many 15-30 year olds. The 7th and now 8th ones will be watched far more often than the first 6 combined.

My 15 year old can not wait to see 10, of course he is a gear head, and I will take him. But if not for him, I can honestly say I would have only watched it once it came out on regular TV...and only if I was passing through the channels.

Paul Walker passing during the filming of 7 is the only reason the Fast/Furious franchise is even relevant.

But....this was a very successful film franchise before he died. I really don't think your statement is true.

I watched Life this past weekend. I really liked it 9/10. Went a really cool direction that I didn't see coming.

The only correct thing about this post was that Toyko Drift was definitely the worst one.

My rankings of the movies are 1, 5, 7, 6, 4, 2, 3. Pretty excited to see The Fate of the Furious

Tokoyo Drift was my least favorite until they tied it into 7, and after rewatching them all like 5 times, 3 is def one of the easier ones to watch. 4 or 2 is the worst for me.

While some hyperbole was used in my post and guesses about sales, the rest is true

Think about this, other than 7 and now 8, the last one you really heard a ton about in theatres was the first.

Worldwide gross 7 did about the same as the next 3 highest combined (6,5,4).

Even if adjust for inflation 7 did FAR better than any other of the movies. Close to 50% more than the second highest.

They have gotten consistently better, as the budgets have continued to rise. Walkers passing only coincides with that. I mean, they fucking parachuted cars out of a flying plane in the last film. If that was in 2 Fast 2 Furious, it would've done better. Just the nature of a franchise like this.
  • Laley23
Also, pretty sure 5 is still the top rated of the franchise. Which, imo, is accurate. Critics and fans alike loved it.

Tried to watch Office Christmas Party last night. It was actually pretty funny, but I still fell asleep 2/3 of the way through.

After I woke up, Captain Phillips was on TV. One of my all-time favorites.

Logan in the theatre and was a 9 out of 10
  • Laley23
    Fate of the Furious.

    Awesome. 9/10. Tied with 7 for 3rd best imo (5, 1)
  • ironman02
Also saw Fate of the Furious last weekend. 9/10 for me too.

    I really like 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 almost equally.

2 was average, 3 was awful, and 4 was okay.

2 brought us Luda and Tyrese though lol. And Tokyo Drift gets better the more times I watch it on TNT lol. But yeah, your list is basically mine, though I have more specified orders for 1/5/6/7/8. But they are definitely the top tier with the other 3 a clear step below.

    Yall crazy. 5 is best. 7 and 8 > 6.

    4> 3 > 2 and its not even close.

2 is the worst. THE WORST
  • Fab4Runner
I am about 4 moves behind in the series. I never saw 3. I did see 4 in the theater, but haven't seen any since then. I need to do a weekend binge.

I said 5 was the best? lol

    ironman02 said they were equal

This is frankly inexcusable. They are basically heist movies, with amazing fight scenes and hilarious 1-liners from the Rock and Statham now. With some driving on the side.
  • SportsAndLady
Haven't seen one of those movies since the first one lol. Not my type of movie.

You don't have to sell me...I'm a fan. I am just way behind, lol.

I'm curious if you'd change your mind if you just jumped in at 5. 5 was basically Italian Job, but better.

Maybe. But I'm not a car guy and these action films are pretty meh to me.

Ok, I see I'm not gonna get away with saying 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are all about equal. Here's my whole ranking...

    1, 5, 7, 8, 6, 4, 2, 3. I suppose 2 and 3 could be flipped, but I guess I don't like Tokyo Drift that much because most of the main characters in the series aren't around.

1 and 5 are close for the top spot, but I gotta give the original some credit for simply being the original.
