What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

IliketurtlesWatched The Accountant and Jason Bourne this weekend. I'd give them both an 8/10.
-
Fab4RunnerFree HBO weekend = recording like 30 movies. I watched the Anthony Weiner documentary last night. I...don't even know what to say. Definitely well done, but what a piece of fucking work that dude is. Overall, 6.5/10.

Is he really all that hot, or does his role in the film make him seem that hot? Only asking because I've seen plenty of movies where a woman appears a lot hotter because of the way she looks or acts (erotically). Real question. -
SnotBubblesI watched "Passengers" last weekend. 8/10.
And to get this back on track with photos, Jennifer Lawrence was in it:

He's really that hot. I've been a fan since he was in The Fall, which was before he was attached to Fifty Shades. He keeps getting hotter, tho.SnotBubbles;1838152 wrote:Is he really all that hot, or does his role in the film make him seem that hot? Dr Winston O'BoogieLion: 10/10 A great film portrayal of an incredible story. Probably the most moved I've been by a movie in many years. Incredible.
Jack Reacher Never Go Back: 2/10 Putting aside the fact that Tom Cruise is the worst choice to play Jack Reacher that could have ever been made, this movie started out "meh" and progressively got worse. The unrealistic action, unsympathetic characters and poor acting were everywhere. Reacher should have kicked the director's ass for making this turd.
Margin Call: 7/10 A solid flick with Kevin Spacey's always strong performance. The story was cool, the characters were interesting and the acting was very good. The only weakness of the film was the ending. It wrapped up a little too neat and tidy. -
HereticEvil Toons -- a low-budget early-90s horror film
Cons: Horrible acting, very little going on, poorly-implemented animation scenes mixed into the usual live-action stuff, etc, etc.
Pros: The four main actresses, some of whom were porn stars at some point in their careers, spent a lot of the movie without most of their clothes to mask how they have roughly the same acting ability as any four random homeless people would.
Rating: 11/10 (1/10 as a movie, with 10 points added for all the nudity) -
Terry_TateGladiator - 8/10

BRFShawshank and Gump.
Both classics that came out in the same year.
Shawshank is special to me because it was filmed in my back yard, so to speak.
I searched out and found the exact location of the Gump bench last year in Savannah.
The bench WAS at Chippewa Square. But it has been moved to a museum because people kept stealing it. -
FatHobbitI read an article about 15 movies on Netflix that you should give a chance. (Something like that) The first one I watched was called "The pill" and it's about a guy who has unprotected sex with a one night stand and then he stays with her the next day to make sure she takes the morning after pill. It was pretty average and I don't think I'll be watching any more from that list. (Chef was also on the list and I thought it was OK)

100% agree. As a huge Lee Child fan, I actually thought the first movie wasn't bad. The second one was terrible. I mean of all people/characters Reacher KNOWS when you are trying to hide in plain site you walk, you don't take off running across a shopping mall (they never did that in the book). They not only made Reacher a foot shorter but also much dumber in this movie.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1838159 wrote:

Fab4RunnerTriple 9 - 5/10. Pretty meh, which is a bummer because it has an awesome cast.

I love Lee Child's books too. In them, Reacher is a legitimate badass. But they aren't over the top like this stupid movie was. I agree with you that the first film was better, but I just couldn't get right with Cruise as Reacher.jmog;1838454 wrote:100% agree. The movie was the one book I said I never wanted them to make a movie of because it totally kills the "Reacher is a nomad that just happens to fall into situations" mystique. In this one it is all government/army/DC/etc which really doesn't tell the same story as most of the books.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1838457 wrote:I love Lee Child's books too. Saw it with the wife, to be honest it was worse than the first (hard to do), at best 4/10. I was bored most of the movie.Fab4Runner;1837678 wrote:Fifty Shades Darker - 10/10. Jamie Dornan might be the hottest dude this planet. Holy shit.
I do get a kick out of the demographic that watches this movie mostly however. I do NOT want this to turn into a political thread, but the same demographic that were "horrified" over Trump's comments 10 years ago about grabbing by the...flock in groves to watch this movie all about a guys "problem" with the need to dominate and humiliate women to the point that they are physically punished and mostly go insane at the end (look at the 'previous woman' in the 2nd film, looney tunes). And they flock to watch a movie about a man that HAS TO CONTROL everything his girlfriend does, where she works, etc... -

It's called consent, dude. Not to mention, IT'S A MOVIE. -

Included in the whole recorded audio was a line that Trump said "and they let you do it". So similar consent to the crap in the movie. Just saying, women who hate the idea of being treated like that by a man flock to 50 Shades to watch a man treat a woman like that. Makes no sense, unless it's because Grey is a lot better looking than Trump.... -
Fab4Runner
It is not even close to the same thing. Like, not even close. Not only does she state her consent, it's also in writing. Oh yeah, and IT'S FICTION.jmog;1838497 wrote:Included in the whole recorded audio was a line that Trump said "and they let you do it". So similar consent to the crap in the movie. You're into superhero movies and action/thriller movies...so I guess that means you're A OK with rape, murder, robbery, killing cops and so on. Right? -

Simmer down now, didn't mean to trigger you. Just stated an opinion.Fab4Runner;1838502 wrote:It is not even close to the same thing. Like, not even close. Not only does she state her consent, it's also in writing. Oh yeah, and IT'S FICTION.

Not triggered. I don't even know what that means, tbh. But you're not really stating an opinion. You're trying to equate a real life event where consent is not given to a fictional event where consent is given multiple times. They are not the same.jmog;1838513 wrote:Simmer down now, didn't mean to trigger you. Just stated an opinion.
Watching or enjoying Fifty Shades does not mean I am okay with sexual assault committed by a real person, including Donald Trump*. Just like watching a movie with violence does not mean I am okay with the same thing happening in real life.
*Even though, once again, there was no sexual assault in any of the books or movies. It was all consensual. -

Now, hopefully that ends RANDOM POLITICAL ARGUMENT #454534 THAT SOUNDED A LOT BETTER IN SOMEONE'S HEAD THAN IT WAS IN REALITY. -
jmogMy actual words were "I get a kick out of.." which means I find it funny, which is really an opinion. Not equating anything.
Last post on that hat dumb topic, I apologize it set you off. -
Fab4RunnerGet Out - 8.5/10. Loved it. Perfect mix of horror, suspense and comedy. Can't wait to see it again soon.
