New found respect for Eazy Z. Had no idea he was the 'star'/'face' of N.W.A. So much more respect for Ice Cube now. Before, I was never really much of a fan. Now, that I know he was the main lyricist behind N.W.A., I have so much more respect for him. Also have more respect for Dr. Dre. Always liked Dre's beats, but I guess I didn't know he was the main producer behind N.W.A. Wasn't expecting the film to get too much into 'Snoop' and '2Pac'. Those were nice surprises. Suge Knight really came of as loser of the film. Guy was a total jerk. Side note: Who was the dude in the tighty-whiteys that was naked curcled up on the floor with the dog barking at him. Dre came out and kinda broke it up. Was that supposed to be Sean Combs?

I thought the actors that played Eazy E, Ice Cube, and especially Dr Dre were all really good. It'll be interesting to see if any of those young guys go on to have any solid careers after this. Wouldn't be surprised if the actor who played Dre (Corey Hawkins) goes on to have a nice career. Whoa! Just looked it up... had no idea the kid who played Ice Cube was actually Ice Cube's son (O'Shea Jackson, Jr.) lol. No wonder he looked so much like Ice Cube. Paul Giamatti was great as always.
So basically you knew nothing about NWA.

Nah, not really. A white male from the Midwest... who really had no ties to identify himself to a young, black, urban culture/movement... yeah, I'd say you're pretty much right. I really didn't know a lot about N.W.A.

    No. Just found it humorous.

Would you say that you respect all of the members of NWA now?

Good thing they left the thing about Dr Dre beating multiple women up

black lives matter oops wrong black lives.

The movie was made by NWA, it's pretty admirable (not the actual act, before anyone twists my words) that it will be on the directors cut. Not many people are gonna make a biopic and put themselves beating up a woman on film for the world to see.

Probably not. If we're including the "members" as:

    Arabian Prince
    DJ Yella
    Dr. Dre
    Eazy-E
    Ice Cube
    MC Ren

Then I'd say I have little-to-no respect for Arabian Prince, and little-to-medium respect for DJ Yella and MC Ren. Really the only 3 worth a damn (IMO) were Eazy, Ice, and Dre.

It's times like this where I remember just how much comedy gold this site has provided for me over the past 5.5+ years.

Douche bags can still be great actors. See Tommy Lee Jones or Danny Glover.
  • Laley23
Why is Matt Damon a douchebag??

And The Martian was pretty awesome. Matt Damon wasnt the only character carrying the film, like I Am Legend, Castaway, etc. But, he was 75% of it, and was fucking awesome.

Wife and I will going to see War Room ... this weekend
