Just kidding. I doubt it is.
Thank you for letting me know.

I liked Cabin in the Woods as well.

The MST3K riff on Lost Continent.

It was a horrible movie that didn't overly translate well to any format, even theirs, due to how plodding the pace was. Although listening to Joel and the Bots slowly going insane due to the rock-climbing section entering its dozenth or so minute was sort of entertaining.

    The Film: 0/10
    With the Riffing: 4/10

Cabin in the Woods was cool. Not what I was expecting at the end. I'd give it a 7/10, probably.

Last movie I watched was Scrooged. A solid 7/10.

Jeez, really? Ok now we're going to not expect much.

Also, just picked up the Home Alone/Home Alone 2 double feature on blu-ray. Should be in tomorrow. We've already watched Home Alone 2 this season so we will probably watch the first tomorrow. 10/10, obviously.

For me, MST3K has one rule: No matter how bad the movie is, they're funny as hell as long as the movie operates at some sort of a real pace. When you get the idea that the producers stretched out a 45-minute TV episode into a feature-length film via mass padding (such as roughly 15-20 minutes of rock climbing), there just isn't anything that can save it.

    Other positives:
    * Not sure, but those dinosaurs looked to be clay models.
    * The comic relief ASSHOLE died.

Completely agree with you, however some movies don't!

We are watching Oblivion tonight with Tom Cruise....so far it is pretty ok.

The next movie I see in theaters will probably be American Hustle. I am actually kind of bummed that I am going on vacation next week and can't see it sooner.

Maybe you should talk about your vacation some more.

Okay. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

Presumably how great the weather is and all the fun stuff you're doing, while he's standing at his window counting how many inches of snow are covering his Hyundai.

Oldboy (the original). 7/10, was a really good movie but wasn't crazy about the twist ending.

Not surprised Gravity sucked, I thought it looked horrible in the previews. Sandra Bullock floating around in space for 2 two hours sounded great!

Scrooged..I watched it last night. It was alright I suppose, but I thought Bill Murray was way too over the top.

Identity Thief...I'll hardly ever just turn a movie off in the middle of it, but this was one of those times.

I watched Savages last night. I thought it was pretty good.

Yeah, that was pretty mediocre. Worth a "free" Netflix view, and that's about it.

The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug. 10/10 Better than the 1st and the dragon is awesome.

Anything would be better than the first. I fell asleep twice watching it. It was like watching someone else play a video game knowing that no one was in any real danger.

I've been watching random old movies on Amazon Prime that I've never seen before.

    Goodfellas 8/10
    Private Parts 7/10
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 6/10

You've never seen Goodfellas? Terrific movie.

I was able to watch the Lone Survivor the other day.

    9/10

I watched the 60 Minutes clip about it last week and my roommate was able to get an "academy copy" from a friend. AWESOME movie, very intense.

    I have now.

I'm not big into movies, so I haven't seen a lot of well-known ones. The Godfather and the Titanic both come to mind.

I think we're going to rent the Lone Ranger tonight, how bad was it?
