What was the last movie you watched and how would you rate it?

There Will Be Blood - Even after a dozen viewings there aren't enough stars for it. A masterpiece and one of the greatest of all-time.

Powder Blue - 8/10. Wide-ranging and talented cast. Forrest Whitaker. Ray Liotta. Eddie Redmayne. Jessica Biel (coke-addicted stripper who performs multiple on-stage acts). Kris Kristofferson. Patrick Swayze. And Lisa Kudrow, in a surprisingly compelling dramatic role. This is a dark drama with almost a film noir feel and featuring an ensemble cast and interconnected story arc in the style of Crash. Critics hammered it for being overly sentimental and grasping at the heartstrings of human nature, but I enjoy these types of depressing drama films. Happy movies suck.

The first R rated film my buddies and I sneaked in. It is every bit of an 11. It had it all. Gratuitous violence, great dialogue and even a flash of boobies.

It is a shame what the sequels have deteriorated to.

Its a solid movie, keeps you on edge the whole time.

For whatever reason, probably because I am a forrest gump fan, I kept double taking when they would call him Captain. He may have been a shrimp boat captain but to me he will always be Private Gump!

    Earth Girls are Easy

Lol, original Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans in a retarded movie. I watched it for an hour while on the treadmill. I'll give it a 5

Lone Survivor - 9/10. It was a fantastic movie, but Mark Wahlberg just isn't my favorite. He did a great job, and I can't think of another actor who would have been better in that role...it's just a personal preference thing.

I was ranking the Die Hard films. Top being the best.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
The problem with the Die Hard series is that it became neutered with PG-13 ratings. Unlike the first film that had violence, blood, yippie kiyay MF, and was awesomely gritty, the last two films were like cartoons with the action sequences being over the top fake. I didn't think the 4th one was that terrible, but was more or less a Justin Long movie with Bruce Willis hanging around. The 5th one that took place in Russia was absolutely horrid. This isn't just a problem with Die Hard but with "blockbusters" in general where the movie production companies insist on PG-13...and it is a sanitized and IMO lesser viewing experience.

Behind the Candelabra - 8/10. Matt Damon and Michael Douglas were really great, and it was an interesting look into Liberace's life. I knew very little about him prior to the movie.

They all have the yippee ki yay.....often tv stations change it but that's not just to the Die Hard movies

There was ample blood and violence in Die Hard 2.

I like 1 and 2 equally.....3 a notch behind. 4 was fine for me but too "new age" action......I have 5 but haven't watched it.
