We're all gonna die Sunday

Fab4RunnerNot bad at all in Akron. Windy and rainy, but the power never even flickered.
-
WebFireOhio was really lucky with this storm. Right before it hit Ohio, the cells merged and formed a squall line, which reduced the threat of tornadoes. The weather service actually nailed the forecast on this one.

Was anyone inside/harmed?
Power lines snapped in half along route 20 heading into Perrysburg. I lost power around 6 and I'd be surprised if it's back up today. -
RotinajI got power back on sometime after 10. Still no cable or Internet.
-
dlazzaccording to my UPS the power went out for 6 seconds.
Hope this helps. -
Belly35How prepared where some of you if lets say the area where you live was heavily damage, all utilities out, some looting began and order would not be restored for a week?
The wife and I took some of our valuables, money, jewelry and weapons / ammo we had upstairs to the basement just in case of heavily home damage from the winds. Things like food, water, batteries, candles additional blankets, clothing was already in the basement storage area. -

Considering that even a devastating tornado is 1 mile or less wide, I would go stay with a family member or friend, and there would be plenty of stores/food places open. Do you really think people camp out in their basement after the house is gone?Belly35;1537890 wrote:How prepared where some of you if lets say the area where you live was heavily damage, all utilities out, some looting began and order would not be restored for a week?

You assumed house was gone I stated heavily damage area -

Either your house is damaged to point of needing the things you needed, or it isn't. If it's not that damaged, then life as usual. If it's damaged to the point where I can't stay, then do what I said.Belly35;1537938 wrote:You assumed house was gone I stated heavily damage area
I'm not sure what you are asking if that doesn't answer it. Tornadoes aren't like blizzards where you are stuck in your house. -

I feel sorry for you. Every time there's something as simple as a severe storm, you're preparing yourself for looters, like people are just waiting to steal your shit as soon as something bad happens. It's too bad you view everyone else in life as evil.Belly35;1537890 wrote:How prepared where some of you if lets say the area where you live was heavily damage, all utilities out, some looting began and order would not be restored for a week?

Do you watch the news? Every time an area is destroyed (ex: Joplin, Missouri) it receives national news, the Red Cross shows up, the town bands together and rebuilds and helps everyone. Before you point out New Orleans (Katrina) or New York (Sandy), those are areas much different than Ohio and those disasters are unique to the coast. And usually entail time to prepare. -

I was outside drinking a beer watching the storm roll in. I have a coleman lantern and lots of candles. -

"Reports" of looting. Nothing confirmed to what extent by whom. Just reports.Belly35;1538127 wrote:Get your head out of your ass and open your eyes to reality ...

Also, initially you were talking about heavily damaged (not completely gone) yet you link articles where the neighborhoods were destroyed.
I'd love to be your neighbor. My house would be damaged/gone and my family possibly hurt, but you're sitting there with a shotgun protecting your cans of beans. What a fucking weird old man you are. -

If my home is damaged to the point where it's uninhabitable, looting is not exactly at the top of my list of problems. WTF would I be trying to protect?Belly35;1537906 wrote:Sure that should work, along with a few other thousand people and families, and everyone know hotel alway have power 24/7 an long with banks and ATM, make sure those roads are open on your way out of town. Looting will happen at all levels devastation the mentality of a small percentage of individual is to take advantage and to take what is not theirs. </SPAN>friendfromlowry;1538144 wrote:"Reports" of looting. Nothing confirmed to what extent by whom. Just reports.

If you where my neighbor I would help you with the supplies and medical needs I have prepared for events like this and in return I would expect you to take a weapon and protect what is yours and mine together. When this situation is over I would hope you would understand the importance of being prepared. See If I wasn’t prepared you and your family would be your own worst enemy … helpless, vulnerable and victim </SPAN>
Call me crazy but when push comes to shove …. I’ll take crazy </SPAN>
