Relationship with your boss/supervisor

It's a shame I have to see it that way given minorities preferences for preferential treatment from cradle to grave all because of their skin color. My apologies that groups that need hand ups based on nothing but their skin color are perceived as weak. Maybe if minorities want to grow up and live in the real world like white people, then we can shed the negative stereotypes.

I don't even know what that means but with all your black friends surely u have some examples of all these kind being given out to mediocre blacks

Don't mind gblock. He gets butt hurt whenever he faces the truth. If you tell him you have black friends he won't believe you either. Also when you expose him has a huge hypocrite (see gblocks stance on a group of Mexicans) he will run the machine on full spin cycle. Now that I just learned he works at a school it makes it even more comical.

I wouldnt say I am "friends" with the partner being that there is a 20-30yr age difference. But I would say we have a good relationship. Have a lot in common...sports fans, went to Akron, and enjoy the outdoors. He's very easygoing but knows when to get serious and be professional, and rightfully so. I would say the relationship I built with him during the interview process was a big part in me getting hired.

Now the person I directly report to, she's kind of a bitch. We have nothing in common, but its whatever.

After your debacle in the women and minorities thread I'm not sure you are one to talk..all I did was ask if anyone had a real life example..didn't know it was that difficult

Huh? What debacle? I don't recall this at all. I'm sure if it did happen I was throwing out the truth and you ended up getting butt hurt lol.

Fact of the matter is I don't act all righteous when it comes to discussing my race, and then a week later I stereotype another race LOLFAIL. Sorry hypocrite, but you lost all credibility when it comes to discussion "minorities."

People that have black friends they care about wouldn't say some of the comments I have seen on here is why sometimes I doubt peoples stories

Anonymity allows me to express my opinions without repercussions. In the PC world we live in, mostly populated by race baiting, rent seeking morons, I have no incentive to tell minorities the truth about their situation.

Diversity is the work place version of AA. Not sure why you continue to argue against this unless your head is firmly buried in the sand.

Haha...this turned interesting. S&L starts a thread about his boss and it turns into a race war. Only on the OC...

I'm debating on whether I have the opportunity to dispel your ignorance if I provide evidence of such. There are studies out there, which I may be willing to produce, that show exactly how the AA world we live in affects perceptions of minorities. Given the moronic nature of your arguments, I doubt it, but maybe.

I'm not debating AA Jesus Christ...I just asked if anyone seen it at THEIR job or someone they KNOW...FUCK

I'm cool with my boss because we were friends before he was promoted. The problem now is other bosses gave his advice that he should have a right hand man to help him make sure everything is going according to plan. Since I was his friend he expects me to be that role for him. I don't like that role because it gives me so much more responsibility without any current benefits. The only advantage I have is he would fight for me when another position would open up. It's a double edge sword at best.

My old office in Kansas hired someone because of AA. He knew it to and admitted it to us a few times. He was also the only minority and he felt it was AA because he was also replacing the only minority before him. The funny thing is he only lasted like 6 months because another firm recruited him for basically the same reason and offered him more money. He wasn't a terrible worker but he wasn't even fully competent on his own after 5 months which any qualified individual easily would have been.

I believe we've already answered that question have we not? Read my story in this thread. That guy was most certainly hired because of his race. Not sure why you are still stuck on this when the topic has evolved.

Gonna side-step the swamp of a racial discussion here.

It's always depended on the boss. Several of the bosses I've had were people I could spend time with outside work, and it was cool. If I have nothing in common with a boss, however, I usually just end up interacting with the boss in a purely professional environment.

I would say, though, that even if we have a lot in common, if a boss isn't a good boss, it makes it hard to want to spend time with him, even outside the work environment.

My last boss was a cool enough guy outside the office, but during work hours, he was an incompetent wank who would have served far better in a specialist role than a supervisory role (he was good at the technical side of the job, but bad at overseeing people). Given this fact, even though he seemed cool enough as a person, it made it hard to want to spend any time with him outside the office.

Who says I hate black people? I don't hate anyone based on the color of their skin. I do however think 'racism' in this country is being overblown to benefit minorities and it needs to stop. When are minorities going to grow up and join reality? Do we always need to treat them like second class citizens or can we just treat them like people?

All the story says is you worked with a black guy who wasn't good at his job and he didn't get called out
