They sound like excellent sports!Enforcer;1532955 wrote:Also Tou wanna talk sportsmanship and Busch league, How about the 12 unsportsmanlike penaltys or the fact that Beallsvilles starting QB was ejected from the game for a cheap shot then cursing at the refs!! -

HitsRusRunning up the score is poor sportsmanship, and going for 2 when up by 60 points is definitely the ultimate.....'legal' taunting. As a coach of youth leagues for over 20 years, I would be abhorred if my team did that on their own, and yes, I would take 100% responsibility. That team is my responsibility, and how they conduct themselves reflects on me.
Sorry to inject 'politics' here...but this is exactly the problem we have with the current administration in Washington, where the buck stops everywhere but the head guy's desk. When you abdicate responsibility, the underlings go off on their own, and this is why you see multiple failures of leadership over and over.....IRS, NSA, Benghazi, ACA, the 'shutdown', the sequester etc etc etc.....and I fully expect this to continue because the guy at the top is more about deflecting blame than in leadership and responsibility.
If the coach of this team expects his team to act and play with a certain decorum, then he needs to act appropriately such that stuff like this doesn't happen again.
Personally, I would not start the player who went off on his own to violate a team rule.....providing there was a rule to begin with, playoffs and all, depending on what kind of example the coach wants to set. He'd not be announced as a starter, and he'd be sittting for a series of downs at least. You are dealing with youth, who do make mistakes...but do need correction, and the trick is to find the proper balance in the punishment......That is, if you are a coach that takes your proper responsibility, and you value sportsmanship. -

They ran the fake, they were in kicking formation ball was hiked to the holder who then tossed the ball over His head to the would be kicker Who ran to the right and in for 2.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1532978 wrote:Did they run a fake or audible to a normal formation? Yeah, because it is soooo uncommon for kids to lose control over their emotions during their last game ever.Enforcer;1533069 wrote:Cheap shots and Taunting while getting beat by 30!! -

At any point should the officials speak with the HC and tell them to knock it off?Enforcer;1533069 wrote:Cheap shots and Taunting while getting beat by 30!! -
HitsRus^^^ nope...their responsibility is to enforce the rules of the game....assess unsportsmanlike penalties where applicable, ejections if necessary.

your high school team has a second team for extra points?....and they audibled????....and then they executed the play???...against another playoff team???Like I said this was the 2nd team that was in and ran this play its not like it was our first team players
I'm calling bullshit on that. -
Pick6to be fair, while Beallsville was technically a playoff team, they weren't really a "playoff team". Obviously indicated by the score. Benefit of the new 7th division. They did a good job this season with what they had. Dressed under 20 players.
