  That's a good point. Not only are these Christians jerks, but also horrible examples of their faith. Instead of taking the "through Master Jebus, everyone can be saved" policy of inclusion their religion mandates, they not only excluded the others, but referred to them as devils, ignoring the "judge not, lest ye be judged yourself" part.
  
  Such low-bred hypocrisy from a flock deluded into thinking they are superior. For shame, for shame. And to think people here are dumb enough to fall for their line of bullshit.

  I don't know (and don't have the interest in finding out) who is putting forth the position that these "Christians" don't have the right to exclude anyone who doesn't share their beliefs. Wasn't Heretic. Wasn't me. OTOH, you seem to want to deny me my right to find these "Christians" to be the despicable human beings that all indications make them IMO.

  No one is advocating the government get involved here.
  
  This is a humanitarian topic about how an organization based upon the teachings of one of the greatest humanitarian figures (whether you believe he really existed or not) is acting in complete disregard of those principles but chose instead to act in a divisive manner.
  
  Once again, I'm not necessarily against organized religion. I think it (organized religions) can do good things through charitable works. Furthermore, I think there are individuals who find purpose and a sense of community through being a member.
  
  However, I completely disagree when these so called forgiving, inclusive, loving, accepting philosophies are perverted and used to be divisive instead of furthering the real purpose of the betterment of man kind.
  
  I'm not advocating that they be forced to allow the atheists. However, I will call them out for hypocrisy when I see it.
  
  This isn't a constitutional issue as the government isn't interfering nor is anyone calling for them to.
  
  Just the same as I am allowed to voice my opinion on this topic doesn't make this a speech issue until the government tries to interfere.

  negative reps...I have been focusing on the other side. Same ante up with heretic. If you can find where I said the "Christian" group wasn't despicable and rather deserved praise - I'll stop posting. I never said you can't criticize them. What I said is that you can't expect them to accept you.

  The guy going on rants about the Constitution when others are mocking how a supposedly "everyone can be saved!" inclusive faith is both excluding a group and "on-the-record" demeaning them? In other words (to spell it out), going against the very tenets they supposedly are supposed to look at as the heart of their belief.

  This. MB and Gut are the only ones going on about politics, the government, the Constitution, etc. as opposed to the inherent hypocrisy of a Christian group excluding others due to differing beliefs rather than treating them like brothers like their supposed holy book encourages.
  
  Apparently some people forgot about the whole Good Samaritan part of the Bible and just focus on the Old Testament parts where Asshole God just tosses around leprosy and death to anyone who disagreed with him. For shame...

  Again generally I agree, but organizations are divisive unfortunately in many ways, that is typically why they are private organizations.

  Religious fundamentalists and organized atheists are two sides of the same coin - a community of like minded who use events (i.e. a soup kitchen) or a publicity stunt (i.e. an "outraged" story in the paper) to advance thier agenda.

  What if the charter of the cookie club specifically emphasizes that the club exists not just for lovers of cookies, but also for those not yet decided on cookies and for those who actively hate cookies?

  And that their founder devoted his life to helping those in need of cookies. And the people the cookie club doesn't want to let in is just trying to help those in need of cookies get cookies.
  
  God is love. What these atheists were doing was an act of love for humanity (trying to help those less fortunate). Atheists don't call it god, but call it love for humanity or doing charity or many other things. Basically this Christian soup kitchen was turning away "love/god" because the atheists label it differently from the way the Christian church prefers to label it.

  Really, atheists are now automatically nihilistic? Just because there isn't a religious ideology that they must subscribe to regarding a diety doesn't mean that atheists don't believe in noble principles, beliefs or some sort of morality.

  I postulated this earlier. This was an established soup kitchen. The atheist group had goods that they wanted to distribute to those who were in need. Basically the atheists had the supply, the soup kitchen had the demand. They were trying to use basic economic principles and work harmoniously with another organization (which they do in other instances) to accomplish their goal of charitable work.
  
  But since the soup kitchen rejected them, they did the next best thing which was to be as close as possible to the location to distribute the goods to those in need where they were concentrated.

  I am confused as to how the Atheists are Jerks. They seem to do many charitable events around the community. They seemed to reach out to see if they could help. Of course the Church has the right to exclude whoever they want but anyone also has the right to criticize and call out their hypocrisy, which is what the Atheist group did here.

  Yeah... which means multiple denominations. I was trying to read in the article where it said the Catholics had a problem with the athiest's but the Baptists and Methodists didn't.
