Just having a bad night

  • Crimson streak
Going through a tough break up with my ex fiancé of 5 years, we have a 3 year old child together and I'm just having a really tough time with it. All my family is 6 hours away and I just feel alone right now. Any advice from anyone who's been through it?

Get rid of the gun and any live ammo on the house...no really do this now.

I honestly just keep super busy. Probably not the best advice but when I stress.. I run, play video games, whatever it takes to keep my mind from racing

    This is excellent advice.

It's just tough not having any family around. I pretty much lost my best friend in my fiancé. I try to stay busy as much as I can but its the nights in the apartment by myself is when it hits me the most

Even though it's probably hard to imagine right now.....you're gonna be okay. It's gonna take some time to get through this but you will. Just hang in there. I know it's easy for me to say that but I have been through a somewhat similar situation. It's normal to feel angry, sad, depressed, etc. in a situation like this but just don't do anything stupid. Better days are ahead, buddy.

Sorry that those words are nothing groundbreaking but sometimes simple is all it takes. I'll keep you in my prayers, crimson.

Thanks I appreciate it. I know it's for the better. I won't do anything stupid. I have a little girl to think about. It's just a shitty situation

It's tough man. Hang in there. Staying busy is definitely key. It's one thing to break apart from your significant other....but the kid part is the killer. I just can't fathom the thought of it.

How often do you get to see the 3 year old?

Damn fella, just keep your head up and stay busy. Find something you are interested in and do it just to keep your mind off things. You will live through this and become better for it.

We're splitting custody 50/50. But I get off 2 hours earlier than her so I swing by her day care and pick her up and spend and few hours with her till she gets off on her days. So I get to see her almost every day which is nice. She's being really cool about the whole custody issue but it still sucks since she was basically my best friend. I know it's for the better but it doesn't make it any easier

I've been trying to. It's the nights that get to me. I haven't slept worth shit since. Maybe getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night. My head just spins at night.

Good god...grow the fuck up. Maybe you were just fucking around, but seriously gtfu.

Keep your head up man. Find someone you can spend some time with. Go to a gym and play hoops or do something active.
And do everything you can to not show your daughter you are hurting because even at her age she can sense those things and is already hurting herself. She needs you most right now.

    So sorry man.

Relationship with a kid and no marriage commitment is just wrong... so you better rethink this order of importants.

Second if this is how you are feeling, it time to rethink what when wrong and change and correct the issues between the relationship and yourself. Time to have a honest conversation with her and make some type of real commitment, sincere changes and fix the problems .. Remember this is about you and your commitments not her so it you who has to change (if she love you, your action and changes will alter hers also) asking for demanding changes from her don’t go there.

Avoiding the issue and not approaching the problem is not the way to a solution just a means to make matters worse.
