I've seen this before. LOL -
BR1986FBAs an FYI, for those with a Vitamin Shoppe around them....this week they are having a buy one, get 50% off on their BodyTech line. I've been looking to save some on my supplements so I bought VS's pre-workout and their aminos. The aminos (watermelon) taste comparable to Scivation Xtend and the price for both items was around $35 which is close to what I'd pay for Xtend alone. Plus the BodyTech aminos are a 45 day supply versus 30 for Xtend. The sale is going on for another week.

ernest_t_bassFirst week in a long time where I plan to work out all 5 week days.
Monday - chest/back dumbbell exercises. Did about 4 exercises each
Tuesday - Cardio class I took last week
Wednesday - bis/tris/shoulders
Thursday - Same cardio class
Friday - Basketball for about an hour to get the hear rate up
I'm 1 week sober today, and I feel better than I have in a very long time. -

Lol. I've had people asking me this too. I'm down 93 pounds since the summer and everyone asks how I've done it. Ummm, I decided to get up off my sofa and do something.jmog;1725422 wrote:I'm no expert, but I have had to explain this for the last year as I have lost 30 lbs and gained a lot of muscle. People ask me all the time
"are you doing cross fit?"
"no"
"are you on the 'xyz crazy' diet?"
"no"
"well what are you doing?"
"I lift 3 or 4 days a week, hitting every muscle group, simple regular exercises like bench, squat, dips, pull ups, etc 3 sets of 6-8 each (whatever weight I can do 6-8). I do cardio 3 days a week (no jogging, walking up hill or sprinting). I count my calories (no specific diet, just keep track). And I try to eat more protein than carbs (doesn't always work). My work outs last about 45 minutes a day during my lunch hour at work. Never more than an hour".
The response I get "come on, it can't be that simple?!"
It really is that simple, keep track of your calories, based on what your goal is (lose, maintain, gain), and simple workouts.
Actually just started riding a bike this week. First time in 15+ years. I have a bad knee, so its taking some getting used to. Hopefully it gets stronger as I continue and will allow me to ride longer distances. -

I've used that pairing before and it works surprisingly well. Probably best used as a shorter workout with supersets.Raw Dawgin' it;1728205 wrote:odd combo -
Azubuike24I've been hitting a 6-day split. 4 exercises for a main part, 2 sets for tris and bis. Doing so for about 4 months and seeing great results.
Saturday - Back/Arms
Sunday - Chest/Arms
Monday - Quads/Arms
Tuesday - Shoulders/Arms
Wednesday - Hams/Arms
Thursday - Calves/Traps/Abs
Using the Chad Waterbury "high frequency" training for arms, trying to hit them 5 days a week. Obviously there is some crossover as well doing incline pressing, dead lifting, squatting, RDL's. -

I've been intrigued by the high frequency training. What kind of intensity are we talking about?Azubuike24;1728309 wrote:I've been hitting a 6-day split. 4 exercises for a main part, 2 sets for tris and bis. Doing so for about 4 months and seeing great results.

I just want to make sure I switch it up on a weekly basis, trying to "confuse" my muscles. Trying to add diff. exercises as well. M/W are for heavier lifting, and the FBC I do on Tu/Th includes aerobic style weight... real low weight, high reps. I plan to basically do this shit for the entire month of may, then stick with just lifting throughout the summer.BR1986FB;1728285 wrote:I've used that pairing before and it works surprisingly well. ZoltanBaked a mixture of eggs, egg whites, kale, and tomatoes yesterday in muffin tins. Forgot how easy this is to get breakfast made for the rest of the work week.
