I just googled some of his videos, his legs look bigger than my waist. How the fuck do you find pants?BR1986FB;1678477 wrote:Back in the day, Tom Platz, known for his freakishly monstrous legs would put those numbers to shame. I'd heard Platz did well over 100 reps with 315. I'd be spitting out lung. -

Raw Dawgin' itJust looking at pictures and videos, it's crazy the difference between current bodybuilders and golden era.

Guys like Frank Zane and Lee Labrada were more about aesthetics & symmetry. A lot of the guys today are just freaky mass monsters who can get ultra-ripped due to drugs & advanced diets. Arnold was the man but comparing his bodyfat levels to todays bodybuilders is like night & day. Guys like Ronnie Coleman & Dorian Yates took freaky/huge/ripped to a new level.Raw Dawgin' it;1678484 wrote:Just looking at pictures and videos, it's crazy the difference between current bodybuilders and golden era. -
AutomatikDifferent drugs/methods, different times.
I'm glad to see pro shows are now deducting points for those ridiculous HGH guts.
Obviously, going back Arnold is the GOAT, but I've always like the look of Serge Nubret. -

Yeah today's bodybuilders definitely have more of a "freak" look.BR1986FB;1678485 wrote:Guys like Frank Zane and Lee Labrada were more about aesthetics & symmetry. BR1986FBNubret had a ridiculous shoulder to waist taper. Such a tiny waist on that dude.

He's wearing sweats but I thought it was jeans for a moment. For awhile, one of the "trends" was squatting in blue jeans. The Barbarian Brothers made this famous. I actually tried it and it will give you about 50 lbs on your squat if the jeans are tight enough. Almost works like a squat suit for powerlifters. Also saw a lot of guys squat in work boots and competitve powerlifters deadlift in ballet slippers (less distance between the foot and the floor = less distance to pull).Raw Dawgin' it;1678491 wrote:Look at his shoes lol

I use different sneakers for squats and deadlifts. Thin sole and flat. If i forget them i go barefoot.BR1986FB;1678492 wrote:He's wearing sweats but I thought it was jeans for a moment. I wear Vibrams for deads. Almost the same as barefoot. I've seen guys pull (and squat) in Chuck's too. Although I'd be hesitant to try squatting in Chuck's with the flimsy ankle support.Raw Dawgin' it;1678493 wrote:I use different sneakers for squats and deadlifts. Thin sole and flat. like_thatFor you runners out there, my marathon training is hitting a wall. I got up to 16 miles, but my IT band has been killing me, and now i have plantar fasciitis to boot. I have laid off from running this week, and both feel much better, but does anyone have treatment/prevention tips?
I have done some stretches and bought a foam roller for the IT band. As for the plantar fasciitis, i just bought some insoles since i over pronate (i hear this would help with the IT issue as well). I started doing an ice plunge as well. My body may not meant be mean to run 26 miles. -

I really dont have any advice other than the training for the full has sidelined many, many people. That is the reason I wont even attempt it as I have seen too many people that are very good runners have issues. I just stick with the halfs.like_that;1679201 wrote:For you runners out there, my marathon training is hitting a wall. Foam roll the shit out of your IT band. Also hit quads, hammys, calves, and back.like_that;1679201 wrote:For you runners out there, my marathon training is hitting a wall. ernest_t_bassI'm still doing Focus T25, starting Beta round next week. Took this week off and I feel like shit for doing it, however I've refereed 4 days this week, but it's not the same.
I'd like to start lifting, but only 2 days per week. I'd like to hit everything from the core up. Not too focused on legs b/c I work the shit out of them in T25, work them reffing basketball, and I don't want stiff/sore legs while trying to run up and down the floor. Anyone have a good 2-day/week workout routine? -
AutomatikAutomatik;1676464 wrote:Interesting. I've never heard of that. It seems like higher rep routines are kinda "in" right now.
A friend recently shared this. He's been making some solid gains and only been on it for around 8 weeks.

So I started this last week. I altered the workouts a bit accounting for what exercises I'm able to do and what was available to me at the gym. It seems like a rather simple program to follow, but those fuckin reps though. I was getting gassed as hell last week, but I'm liking it so far. My friend has been making some solid gains and has only been at it for 2 months. -

I haven't done anything yet. I'm working out every morning (t25), but I need to drop the excuses and lift after work.Raw Dawgin' it;1681619 wrote:You try what i sent your or are your legs too sore? lol -

Depending on how far your commute home is, I often take a shaker bottle full of NO Xplode to drink when I'm halfway home so it jolts my system and gets me in the right frame of mind to work out. My commute is over an hour and if I don't get some kind of caffeine in my system, I can easily talk myself out of working out.ernest_t_bass;1681624 wrote:I haven't done anything yet. I can do you one better. I have a commercial gym 50 feet from my back door and I've talked myself out of going out there. lolRaw Dawgin' it;1681714 wrote:I live a mile from my gym and i've turned around before getting there.
