What is everyone getting from their gardens? So far peppers of all kinds, radishes, a couple of cucumbers, green onions, and green garlic.

How could i forget lettuce I been giving it away.

rhubard interesting ... I would not take you as a individual that likes rhubarb ... rhubard/strawberry pie is great

What do you use it for in cooking.

does rurbarb come back each year?

Belly, Do you employ any kind of tumbler for recycling table scraps back to compost? or do you favor the "compost pile" approach?

I've very intrigued by the raised garden. I may try one next year.

I would love to have a tumbler but I have to much to compost with the size of my property. I built a above ground compost. Used 4x8 panels of pig fencing, concrete blocks, wooden sides. I put large patio stones on the ground, to let the compost fall on to, easy to shovel it out.

Already pulled cucumbers out and into mason jars for refrigerator pickles.

Those of you with tomatoes remember to prune the lower branch and leaves. This will provide more nutrient to the tomatoes.

Additional information: In my second garden only raised 10 inches I have put shaving of Irish Spring soap around the garden... No rabbits, deer, chipmunk, ground hogs..... You do have to replace it after ever rain.. But it seems to work

I have already pruned my tomatoes. I did not know about the Irish Spring though. I did make some home made bug spray that is working very well. Or all the rain is just drowning all the bugs either way my garden has not been this good in ten years.

Also I have a few tomatoes turning colors hope that means I might have a few here in a week or so.

Pulled several roma tomatoes yesterday and my first big boy is turning orange today! Now that is summer for me!

I planned late this year so most of my tomatoes are still in bud form.

Amish Paste, Pink Elephants, Paul Roberson, Beef Steak, Delicious and Yellow Gooseberries

Just mix one table spoon of Dawn liquid soap in a gallon of water .... I use a water can and pour over the plants..

Wet weather means “Slugs” they can do big damage to tomatoes and other plants.
Solution: Small container ( I use small tin pie plate) fill with beer, placed under the plants … in a day the tin will be full of drunk and dead slugs.. Replace the beer until no more slugs show up in the tin.

My wife is putting egg shells around her tomato plants. She said it keeps tomato worms away. I'll tell her about the Irish Spring.
