Will Zimmerman get a fair trial in the Travon Martin case?

  looks like the race card is in full swing IMO . No chance IMO this is a new age lynching. BTW since when is hispanic reffered to as a white hispanic? CNN used that term and I have never seen such a description on any job application or any other form I have ever seen . I never saw the term black hispanic. Just hispanic. It was totally inflamatory for CNN to use such a made up term . NBC is also being sued by Zimmerman because they edited the 911 tapes . It is unbelievable how dishonest and callous the media is .

  If you are talking about me ,which I dont know if you are or not ,I dont have a vested interest. Just an interest. Its an interesting case and I think the media has already lyched this man and made it a race issue.

  No, The shooter made it a race issue. The "media" made it a Gun issue.

  The black panther party has a vested interest . I also think the president inflamed the people by saying "If I had a son he would look like Travon Martin" That kid was no angle and was also beating the crap out of that man . Florida has laws that allow you to use deadly force if your life is in danger .

  The only reason it's interesting is the race aspect. There are cases just like this everyday and threads like this simply glorify the race issue.

Zimmerman should have backed off and just watched Martin IMO . Martin attacked Zimmerman and saw the weapon on him and told him "Now your going to die" after he beat the crap out of him and busted his nose and gave him black eye while smashing his head off the concrete. This case should be a back page story. Incidently I have friends in Samford Florida.

  Agree with this assesment. That is why it is troubling to me. It should not be a race issue.

  I think he will get a fair trial. Of course whichever side loses will claim that the trial was biased in one way or another.

  There are such things as "white" and "black" Hispanic designations. Many companies - large ones, in fact - segment their customers as such, since Hispanic is not an official U.S. Census racial category (rather, it is an ethnicity).

  It is also pretty hard to say it is self defense when you are the initial armed aggressor.

  He will get a fair trial because he will be convicted and since he's as guilty as hell...I guess that's the purpose of a trial in the first place. If Zimmerman's name had been Hernandez or Montoya none of us outside of Redneck Cnty, FL would have ever heard of this case.

  Nope . I voted for Obama . I am usually on the other side of these topics . I am a democrat . I have learned more about this case that has caused me to rethink some issues .

  Yes I know Zimmerman used the word coon. my question is why did the media make it a white/black issue? Zimmerman is hispanic. Hispanic and black crimes go on all the time and are not reported like this in the media. The only way for this case to get so much heat and passion in it was for the media to make it a "white and black" thing. They succeded. When this first happened I was extrmely angry towards Zimmerman and wanted his head . I have now learned facts about this case and found it to be nothing more than a media hyped lynching . Zimmerman made alot of mistakes . He should not have stalked that kid . He did use the word coon ,so he is probably a bit racist,however he is not white and he did get his butt beaten by Martin and according to Florida law he is allowed to protect himself with deadly force when his life is in danger.

  On your 2nd point . This is where I have changed my mind, I dont think it was racially motivated . Zimmerman probably was profiling him so on that point there is a racial element . Im going by Florida law with the fact that Zimmerman was attacked and then defended himself . I personnaly dont think Zimmerman should be carrying a gun ,but Florida law allows him to . I believe that Zimmerman stalked this kid . I also believe that Martin did not like being followed and then attacked Zimmerman and beat him pretty good . Crap like this happenes in South Central LA all the time . Its not headline news . The media had to call Zimmerman white in order to get outrage and hence get higher TV ratings and upsale newspapers . That is a travisty. There will be no fair trial here and that is a problem .

  Nancy Grace and the entire HLN station are camping out in Florida and plan on turning this into the next Jodie Arias trial after the ratings bonanza that was.
  
  Short of sequestering the jury he is going to be sent up state for a nice meeting with Bubba after that station is done running him through the mud all day every day for the duration of the trial.
