SnotBubblesThat cop has to feel pretty shitty.
He killed a girl trying to protect himself. And while anyone would probably make the same move he did....it still is going to haunt him for life. -
LJ
The police are supposed to protect and serve the citizens, not themselves. If he doesn't want to put his life on the line to protect who he is paid to protect, then he shouldn't be a fucking cop.SnotBubbles;1445362 wrote:That cop has to feel pretty shitty.

Gblockhe should have shot her in the leg and then shot the guy...or backed off and gave the guy some space. as long as he has a hostage he is unlikely to actually kill her because then he is going to get killed immediately. but shooting her in the face is rediculous

I think this is not a good idea.Gblock;1445366 wrote:he should have shot her in the leg and then shot the guy -

Yeah, I was kind of confused on the theory behind that one.FatHobbit;1445370 wrote:I think this is not a good idea.
Either way, though, this cop was in a very precarious situation. Unfortunate for all involved. -
WebFireGlad LJ and Gblock were there to know the exact situation and what the cop should have done.
-
Gblockshoot her in the leg and she will go down he wont be able to hold her up and use her as a hostage then you shoot him they do it on tv all the time. jk but much better chance than shooting her in the face or trying to shoot him in the head when his head is next to her

LJ
Glad a cop shot an innocent woman in the face for no fucking reason. Seriously, that is such a stupid reply. His job is to protect the CITIZENS. His actions did not do that, put her into more danger, and ended up killing her. Same reason that many cities have outlawed chases and make the cops back off. It's because the safety of innocents is more important than anything else.WebFire;1445376 wrote:Glad LJ and Gblock were there to know the exact situation and what the cop should have done. -

i was kidding but really i will take any option besides shooting me in the head under any circumstance.WebFire;1445376 wrote:Glad LJ and Gblock were there to know the exact situation and what the cop should have done.
and what exactly would the situation be that would mean the hostage gets shot in the face? -
ts1227I think we're rushing to judgement here some. Who's not to say he had a good shot and the suspect moved in a way to put her in the path? Stuff like that isn't clear.
I'd like to know why he fired 8 times. You'd think one good shot would have ended it, and then we're not having this conversation -
LJ
Why did he fire 8 times? Because he probably DIDN'T have a good shot, got scared, and just started shooting in the direction of the intruderts1227;1445382 wrote:I think we're rushing to judgement here some. Gblockhe shouldnt be aiming high enough to hit the hostage in the face just in case

Given the situation he was thrown into (a hostage situation) his mind was probably racing. He probably wasn't thinking very clearly.ts1227;1445382 wrote:I'd like to know why he fired 8 times.
What I'm betting happened is he started firing, the perpetrator went down, and then SHE ducked into the line of fire as he was still shooting.
Hard to say without actually being there though.
LJ is overreacting though, and it brings the lulz. -
LJ
Not sure why being upset about a cop shooting and killing an innocent person is overreacting? If he wasn't prepared to handle the situation (as you alluded to) he should have backed off and called for backup. That simple.dlazz;1445397 wrote:LJ is overreacting though, and it brings the lulz. -

No, no he is better than everyone in everything. He would clearly would perform anyone's job perfectly no matter how chaotic the scenario is. :rolleyes:dlazz;1445397 wrote:Given the situation he was thrown into (a hostage situation) his mind was probably racing. That's not what I am saying at all. I am saying that I don't agree with the way the cop handled it. He killed an innocent girl with the way he handled it.like_that;1445400 wrote:No, no he is better than everyone in everything. Yes, my point is it is easy to think clearly when you aren't in the situation sitting at your keyboard. No matter how much training you recieve, you have no idea how you are going to handle a crisis until you are thrown in one.LJ;1445402 wrote:That's not what I am saying at all. and my point is that he didn't handle it properly. He shouldn't have shot. His job is to put himself into danger to protect citizens, not to put citizens in danger to protect himself.like_that;1445405 wrote:Yes, my point is it is easy to think clearly when you aren't in the situation sitting at your keyboard. Yeah, I have a buddy who's a cop and he was like "we only get cert every 2 years...no, believe me, you don't want a cop taking that shot"Gblock;1445378 wrote:... but much better chance than shooting her in the face or trying to shoot him in the head when his head is next to her
