The Steubenville incident v. Anonymous

Gardens35Question: When will CURLY check his private messages?

TiernanJane Hanlin is an Asst DA in Steuby and she tried to squash this whole story from the beginning telling the victim and her parents if they sought charges it would be tough to get a conviction and maybe counseling would be a better route to pursue. Why did this bitch do this? Because her own POS son who is also on the football team was involved the night of the parties. Hopefully she gets let go from her $138,000 / yr cushy fkn job and her kid is one of the new deuche bags charged.

In a normal town corruption like this would lead to a house cleaning of public officials.Tiernan;1408671 wrote:Jane Hanlin is an Asst DA in Steuby and she tried to squash this whole story from the beginning telling the victim and her parents if they sought charges it would be tough to get a conviction and maybe counseling would be a better route to pursue. Sadly, it seems in Steubenville being involved in the coverup is a badge of honor that is to be cheered and applauded.
The people who tried to defend the rapists are the real victims in this situation in case you haven't gotten the memo.
The girl who was raped is nothing more than a dumb bitch who acted like a wet blanket and ruined the fun the Steubenville football players were entitled to by virtue of their God-like status in the community.
I wish the paragraph above were hyperbole, but sadly that seems to be the prevailing thought among a great majority of the towns residents. -

Answer: One of these years...and thanks for the Info.
And now back to Victim Blaming... -
september63The man that runs the institution, RENO, has been absent from all this turmoil. What a POS he is. Why wasnt he there supporting his boys? BC he is a hypocritical POS!!
I dont know, or care, to know the name of the 3 kids that got immunity. They will never step foot on RENO's field to play another down of football. -
IggyPride00Can anyone imagine what it would have been like had this happened about 5 years ago when the Puddle was still around and kicking? I think the entire town of Steubenville was registered on that site at one point. It would have been total chaos.
-
september63This is not my opinion. I heard Dustin Fox today on Cleveland sports radio. He likened this to the Penn State situation, only in that their was a lack of institutional control. He suggests OHSAA could get involved and suspend Big Red from competing in post season. Any thoughts?

That is exactly what should happen.september63;1408727 wrote: He suggests OHSAA could get involved and suspend Big Red from competing in post season. Any thoughts?
That would hit these people where it hurts the most, and since we know that many in the football program were involved from the top down it would be entirely appropriate. -

They should be. They raped girls, video taped themselves celebrating that fact, and the town stood behind them. I hope the only place they can get jobs is in the steubie applebees washing dishes.gut;1408206 wrote:I don't agree with "grieving" over the verdict, but it does illustrate these guys lost a lot more than 1 year of freedom.
Anyone can serve a year in the clink, the deterrent is really about trying to put your life back together after doing time. They'll be paying for that the rest of their lives, being passed over for jobs and promotions because of being a convicted sex offender. -
IggyPride00Steubenville's own Traci Lords is on Piers Morgan right now talking about the cultural problem in Steubenville (she was raped there also).
-
Midstate01Just saw 2 girls were arrested for their threats of the victim on social media.

OSHI read some of the text messages that were sent during and about those events...disgusting.
Supposedly, that's the evidence that ultimately made the decision easy. -
IggyPride00Any word on civil suits yet?
I have to imagine that is going to be the next phase for this girl and her parents to sue the living pants off of anyone involved from the rapists, to the parents who provided the beer to the people who knowingly covered it up.
Not that anyone in Steubenville really has anything to take, but if nothing else some sizable civil judgments may make some of the parents there think twice about whether they want to be involved in helping to foster and cover up any future incidents. -

Not that I've ever been in the same shoes, but I would figure at some point the victim would like to get on with her life..IggyPride00;1408854 wrote:Any word on civil suits yet?

Manhattan Buckeye"Not that anyone in Steubenville really has anything to take,"
An excellent point.
Another point: a civil suit brings her past into question. "Rape shield" laws typically don't apply to civil actions. Not only would her conduct that night be put into question but likely her past and credibility in general. -

TiernanAdd Momenee to the list of Nodianos and Hanlin as people who need to be made examples of and banned from any kind of acceptance in any town in America.

This clip has been making the rounds the past day or so since CNN's botched coverage of the Steubenville verdict.
It is a piece the Onion did 2 years ago. Amazing how life has managed to imitate art both in how the media has covered this and the people of Steubenville have reacted to the incident. It could have almost been the Onion piece except swap out the basketball player for a football player. -
Dr Winston O'BoogieWhat's ever become of the kid that starred in the video that was circulating?
