The Steubenville incident v. Anonymous

It would be as if a burglar of my home threatened to reveal that I had a Breaking Bad-esque meth lab that he noticed while he was stealing stuff from me. Not exactly a great witness for any sort of prosecution. For all we know (and I know nothing, because the story stinks from both sides and I don't care enough about Steubenville football) they are building a libel case.
So you're saying he's basically admitting guilt on the child porn but is hoping a court views it as ok because it was obtained illegally? -
bases_loadedBecause if I don't have child porn and am being accused of having child porn, I have no reason to not say, I don't have child porn. I don't need lawyer to say I don't have child porn if I don't have child porn.

queencitybuckeyeHe should be far more afraid of calling this Anonymous group liars than anything the police may or may not find. He isn't going to win an internet posting battle against these people.

Where did he admit anything?bases_loaded;1351820 wrote:So you're saying he's basically admitting guilt on the child **** but is hoping a court views it as ok because it was obtained illegally?
If so, I haven't read it here. -
bases_loadedLol at his password hint being favorite sports team: big red
Is that even hacking when it's that easy? -

By not responding for a week in my head he's hiding something. The guy is a message board whore and he disappears to lawyer up for a week? If I'm innocent I'm screaming from the roof tops immediately. -

It is a bit like posting a sign on one's house indicating where you hide the key.bases_loaded;1351826 wrote:Lol at his password hint being favorite sports team: big red

queencitybuckeyeIf the man is innocent, I should feel bad for him. However, I just can't as he's such a d-bag.
-
sherm03Seems to me that MOW is confused on the timeline. Didn't the NYT article come out first...which led to Anonymous taking interest?
LOL at the media "aiding and abetting" Anonymous. But in my interactions with those fans over there, Steubenville loves the "us against the world" mentality. -

This. He'd be better served to just hunker down and STFU until it hopefully blows over.queencitybuckeye;1351824 wrote:He should be far more afraid of calling this Anonymous group liars than anything the police may or may not find. I think you are confusing internet peeing battles with real life consequences.bases_loaded;1351827 wrote:By not responding for a week in my head he's hiding something. If some idiot on the internet said that I have kiddie porn in my house or have in any way, shape or form committed a crime (and trust me, I don't or haven't), I don't respond publicly or in any way directly respond to even dignify it with a response. If I think it would in any way hurt my reputation thus a libel or slander case would be in order, without question I'm shutting up and let the idiot bury himself. -
bases_loadedAnon isn't happy wtrf won't air his sit down interview because he wouldn't provide his name.
He has summoned naziGods to aid.

MOW just dug himself a deeper hole. "Terrorists" -

What are they going to do, beat them at Risk? Dungeons and Dragons, perhaps summoning some sort of demon while dreaming of sleeping with a woman?bases_loaded;1351834 wrote:Anon isn't happy wtrf won't air his sit down interview because he wouldn't provide his name.

No. Just probably the same stuff they did to MOW. -
Manhattan Buckeye
Which was?bases_loaded;1351847 wrote:No. Just probably the same stuff they did to MOW.
I don't follow twitter. What exactly did they do? -

They can access every bit of information that exists on the man. One can do quite a bit of damage with that information.Manhattan Buckeye;1351842 wrote:What are they going to do, beat them at Risk? Dungeons and Dragons, perhaps summoning some sort of demon while dreaming of sleeping with a woman? -

they hacked rollredroll.com a couple times, putting up their messages and videos. They also locked MOW's email and dumped the contents into a hosted file.Manhattan Buckeye;1351848 wrote:Which was?

Manhattan BuckeyeSo they committed a felony in both Federal and Ohio law, most likely. And they are somehow credible. My guess if the Feds even begin to care about this (and IMO they don't), Anonymous is in more trouble than MOW (who the heck is that BTW?).

These hacker groups are not not your typical "computer nerds." They have done some serious damage and aren't to be taken lightly.Manhattan Buckeye;1351842 wrote:What are they going to do, beat them at Risk? Manhattan BuckeyeHas there been any prosecution based on "anonymous", or is it just a reputation hit?

We heard about how they were going to stop the WBC from showing up at the CT funerals too. How'd that work out? -

It's just a reputation hit. Obviously their methods make prosecution problematic.Manhattan Buckeye;1351859 wrote:Has there been any prosecution based on "anonymous", or is it just a reputation hit? -

The point is, you'd still be a felon with a meth labManhattan Buckeye;1351815 wrote:Bear in mind (and I'm not really all of this into the story), it sounds like the people that are claiming he committed any sort of crime, have themselves admitted to committing crimes.

Doesn't speak any better of you because someone broke in and found it
You'd still be making meth
I really don't think Anonymous cares a hole bunch about how this is adjudicated. They've formed an opinion that the system is failed, and they're stepping in
