mcburg93I really like my glock23. Only downfall is it is a little small for my hands. With the pinky extensions, or what ever they are called, it helps some. I have been looking at some 1911's I would like to purchase but havent decided between the kimber or the colt xse. I have heard a lot about the kimbers being ammo specific and jamming a lot. I just really liked how they felt when holding one so I really need to go to a range and shoot one.

The kimbers are more mag specific. I run Wilson mags in mine and it stopped all the Feed issues -

Did not know that about the mags. Thanks for the info. I really like how the kimbers feel and it was my first choice. I have shot the colt on several occasions, but it just dont feel right in my hands.LJ;1427625 wrote:The kimbers are more mag specific. I run Wilson mags in mine and it stopped all the Feed issues -
TedShecklerI have a Sig C3 1911. It's Commander size. I have put a few hundred rounds through it with only one failure to load. I think that was a bad round though.

justincredibleAnyone have any recommendations on holster brands/styles/etc for EDC? I sit at a desk a majority of the day if that makes any sort of difference. I'm guessing some may be more comfortable for sitting vs standing. I've still got a while before I'll start carrying but I've seen the lead times on some of these holsters are 8-10 weeks or more.

Belly35With my Sig P238 .380 I've gone to a ankle holster and or soft inside the belt pants
With My Sig P220 .45 I have two types : Galco Avenger side carry
DeSantis small of the back holster
Note: the Sig P220 .45 carry is a heavy and big weapon I have carried it for years. Something you have to get use to carring.
With the Sig P238 .380 the confort of a ankle holster is great. Plus the fact at know one knows or see any sigh of a a holster and i don't have to take it on and off with entering different areas is nice. However the smallness of the weapon also let me carry with a Soft Galco inside the pants holster or a Pocket holster. -

I have the FusionPac IWB holster from Tactipac. Pro and cons...justincredible;1450066 wrote:Anyone have any recommendations on holster brands/styles/etc for EDC? Pros
1. Can wear it with literally everything. (big pro for me)
2. Easy to put on.
3. Doesn't require a belt.
Cons
1. I don't think I'd want to wear it all day, since it does wrap around your waist.
2. More strap means more that you can feel and have to get used to.
3. Hard to go to the bathroom because it is over your underwear.
4. For comfort, you really need a t-shirt first, then the holster, then your outer shirt. Not really a con, but something else you have to consider.
Overall I like the holster, and wearing it with any clothing is a real plus. I wear it with gym shorts and a tshirt. I would, however, recommend a regular belt type IWB holster as a companion. Sometimes I just want to grab it and go and know I can remove it easily too. With this one, you have to pull down your pants. -

I did a search and found that some shops are taking pre-orders as of this month. I didn't really find a set release date, though.WebFire;1450142 wrote:Yeah, I'm not sure when they are supposed to be out. -
justincredibleAnother thing I'll need, anyone have any recommendations on range bags?
-
TedShecklerI just use a normal backpack or duffel bag.
As for IWB holsters, I'm going to recommend Theis Holsters. It's a 1 man operation, all hand made. I got a horsehide with Kydex clips. I can carry a Commander size 1911 all day sitting down at work with no issues. Give them a look.
