College Hockey

Tiger2003UND takes down Boston U 4-2. One of the best hockey games I have seen in awhile. Sophomore Connor Gaarder records a natural Hat Trick.
-
gorocks99A little more than a month into the season and BC sits atop the polls. Michigan has plummeted to unranked, Miami is at #4, and Ohio State is (so far) holding their own in conference.

said_aouitaHas college hockey attendance gone up because of the strike in the NHL?
-
gorocks99Tough to say. Through the short 2012-2013 season it's an average 3,517 attendance in 324 games played. In 2011-2012 it was average 3,731 for 1,028 games (source: http://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-i-men/2011-2012/). Expect it will end up pretty similar.

Tiger2003Gorocks man it's going to be sad not seeing this game played for years. 2016 cant get here quick enough. I will be down there Saturday night!
Go Sioux!!! -
Classyposter58Michigan and Michigan State tied for last in the CCHA  Never thought I'd see that, UM's defense is beyond terrible. BG ripped them apart and has been on a roll lately

Crazy, especially since UM came into the year with such high hopes. Not looking good for the B1G next year, it'd be the third best conference this year if it were in place.
Gophers walloped ND 5-1 last night. Get the sweep tonight!! -
Classyposter58
ND is very good yet they basically play a dead puck style with that trap. Definitely a slower game, especially imparts to a team like Miami who runs and guns all game.gorocks99;1369730 wrote:Crazy, especially since UM came into the year with such high hopes. Lol I tried to comment to you last night but the OC was being stupid on my computer lol. I saw this on Thursday and thought it was awesome. I don't know how long I will be here in Huntsville but at least I should have some decent college hockey to watch. Their facebook page had some funny pics about how the "WCHA loves biscuits" I guess it was something that spun when the CCHA rejected them 2 years ago they made meme's about how the CCHA hated biscuits lol.gorocks99;1369485 wrote:BTW, as long as this is at the top, Iliketurtles, UAH was granted full membership in the WCHA: http://www.wcha.com/men/pres1213/201301/jan17wcm.php -
gerb131Fell asleep to the Miami Oh vs Wisky game last night. Some pretty good action but no scoring thru 1 and 2 and then I crashed.
-
Tiger2003Damn Sioux had a 4-2 lead in the 3rd and they end up with a tie. Congrats Go Rocks hope to see you in the Final 5.

gorocks99It's women's hockey, but the Gophers just completed an undefeated, untied season with a national championship yesterday. 41-0-0 may be one of the most impressive accomplishments I've ever seen.
Also, men's brackets announced ... who you got?
East (Providence, RI):
1 Quinnipiac vs 16 Canisius
6 Boston College vs 12 Union
Midwest (Toledo, OH):
5 Miami vs 11 Minnesota State
4 Notre Dame vs 13 St Cloud State
West (Grand Rapids, MI):
2 Minnesota vs 15 Yale
8 North Dakota vs 10 Niagara
Northeast (Manchester, NH):
3 UMass-Lowell vs 14 Wisconsin
7 New Hampshire vs 9 Denver -

My picks for each of the regional champs in bold. Would make for a great Frozen Four in Pittsburgh.gorocks99;1414048 wrote: East (Providence, RI):

It's women's hockey, not that impressive.
Anyway I want to be a homer and pick Miami to get to the Frozen Four but they really looked like absolute shit against Michigan in the CCHA semis. It was embarrassing and cost them a 1 seed. -

A really nice facility that they have there.gorocks99;1414048 wrote:Midwest (Toledo, OH): -
