    From earlier in the thread:
    gorocks99;1296017 wrote:Yep ... here are the 2013-2014 major conferences:

    B1G:
    Michigan (CCHA)
    Michigan State (CCHA)
    Minnesota (WCHA)
    Ohio State (CCHA)
    Penn State (Independent)
    Wisconsin (WCHA)

    NCHC:
    Colorado College (WCHA)
    Denver (WCHA)
    Miami (OH) (CCHA)
    Minnesota-Duluth (WCHA)
    Nebraska-Omaha (WCHA)
    North Dakota (WCHA)
    St. Cloud State (WCHA)
    Western Michigan (CCHA)

    WCHA:
    Alaska-Anchorage
    Alaska-Fairbanks (CCHA)
    Bemidji State
    Bowling Green (CCHA)
    Ferris State (CCHA)
    Lake Superior State (CCHA)
    Michigan Tech
    Minnesota State-Mankato
    Northern Michigan (CCHA)

    Hockey East:
    BC
    BU
    Connecticut (joining 2014)
    Maine
    UMass-Amherst
    UMass-Lowell
    Merrimack
    New Hampshire
    Northeastern
    Notre Dame (CCHA)
    Providence
    Vermont

    B1G fucked everything up.

Also, I'm not sure about OSU/Miami. They may still play, the B1G is going to be a 20-game conference season, which leaves about 15 games for non-conference. They'll probably try to fit in a series each year.

Ehh not sold on Lowell and Northeastern being totally dominant this season. IMO Boston College then Boston U and New Hampshire and then Lowell, Northeastern and Maine. Still BC are men among boys, maybe not '93 Maine good, but still

Getting tickets for the NCAA Tournament East Regional. Really hoping Maine a) makes the tournament and b) is in the east bracket. Other wise I'm selling the tickets.

Iliketurtles, sounds like the WCHA could decide to invite UAH as their 10th team for next season at winter meetings:
UAH needs to find a conference. The team has only one series a month starting in January, the last two on the road, because others’ schedules are filled by league play. A program cannot survive this way.

There is no timetable for a decision, but WCHA officials are expected to talk about UAH at the NCAA meetings in Dallas in mid-January. If interested, they could invite UAH to apply. The WCHA would like a 10th member to ease scheduling.

UAH officials used their time with WCHA representatives to find out what they need to do to become more attractive, said McLeod, who did not elaborate. That info could prove critical since the addition of a new member requires approval from seven of the nine school presidents.

Things are far from certain but certainly look brighter than a few weeks ago for UAH, which now must take advantage of upcoming games to prove it belongs in the WCHA on the ice.

A loss and tie at home to Minnesota State suggest the Chargers could be competitive. A good showing at St. Cloud State this weekend would be a big help in turning heads.

gorocks thanks for the link. I'm sure this guy in my office who is a huge hockey and especially UAH fan will be talking about this lol. It would be really great if they could get into the WCHA seems like is would be a decent fit they have some talent thats for sure and are a lot better than I figured they would be.

I will try to watch/listen to their game tomorrow though. Hopefully they can put out a good showing. It would help if they didn't commit so many penalties lol. I'm still shocked you knew of them.

UAH has always been this sort of fun anomaly in college hockey to me, I'd like to see them do well. A bunch of teams in the upper midwest, northeast, and Colorado ... and then Alabama-Huntsville. Wat?
  • Tiger2003
UAH would be a good fit for the WCHA. But man would that me a plane ride for the Alaska schools and UAH to play each other. To bad Clarke Saunders left UAH for UND or you would get to see a very good goalie, but I'm not to sorry as he is in Grand Forks.

Yeah first game I went to two weeks ago I got a kick out of the scoreboard because on both sides it says "The University of Alabama in Huntsville the Hockey Capital of the South"

Its a great arena though and the people here sure do love this team haha.

The Regionals are in horrible spots this year.

So the best team in the WCHA will have to go to Michigan or Toledo. Now that is just dumb. Still has me shaking my head their should always be a regional in St Paul unless they are hosting the Frozen Four.

    North Dakota wins 5-0.

Former Alabama Huntsville goalie Clarke Saunders get his first shutout with North Dakota.

They could have used him last night... Huntsville went down 8-3 not the type of showing they needed hopefully they can do better tonight.

    Goofs win 3-2
    UND loses 2-1

UND never plays good the 2nd night in Alaska.
  • gorocks99
Miami gets 3 points from their weekend series against Providence (tie Friday, win Saturday) while Ohio State could only muster a tie with Quinnipiac Friday before losing Saturday.
  • Raw Dawgin' it
Maine is 1-3...we suck again. In our 3 losses we've scored 1 goal and been out scored 11-1.
