Can't believe he was doubted. After that time in the semi I knew he wouldn't be touched. Crazy how he can have such a so so start and then just dust everyone.tk421;1240543 wrote:Bolt! Wow 9.63! -

Bolt one, Blake 2 and then Gatlin 3?
That's all I got and then my feed froze. -

He just has an on and off switch. It's incredible. It would be awesome to see him run live.Automatik;1240545 wrote:Can't believe he was doubted. After that time in the semi I knew he wouldn't be touched. Crazy how he can have such a so so start and then just dust everyone. -
tk421Bolt was more than .1 better than the 2nd place. 9.63 and 2 at 9.75.
-
said_aouitaBolt is sick. Can't believe he won by that much.
-
ptown_trojans_1Americans 3-5.
-
tk421speaking of medals, GB getting a huge day today. 10 medals, 4 gold for the home team.
-
ptown_trojans_1That was an impressive race. Gatlin had a strong start, but Bolt then just turned it on and literally blew by him. Blake then cruised past Gatlin.
Gatlin had 9.75
Gay 4th, 9.80
Bailey 5th, 9.88
Damn, Bolt was just impressive. -
gutSo will the US men have any chance of beating Jamaica in the 4x100?
-
ptown_trojans_1
If it is Gatlin, Gay, Bailey, and one more, I think they have a shot.gut;1240724 wrote:So will the US men have any chance of beating Jamaica in the 4x100? -

So ridiculous they didn't show it live. I turned NBC on at 5 til expecting to see it and damn horses were on. Inexcusable. -
dazedconfusedtape-delaying is stupid regardless of the day but tape-delaying on a weekend is unfathomable

tk421ratings have been huge for NBC, mostly because people don't have any other choice so don't look for them to change anytime soon. The 2016 and 2020 Olympics will be the exact same way.
-
ptown_trojans_1So, let me get this straight NBC, you do not show the 100m live, to wait until Primetime, and then you have yet to show it past 11:00PM on a Sunday night? Come on. 2 Billion people already know the result. At least show it around 9 or 10. NBC Fail.
-
wildcats20I would assume it will be the last event they show.

with all of the events being available live online, its not really a big deal - just annoying. nbc needs to get all the kinks worked out of the live feed, thoughtk421;1240774 wrote:ratings have been huge for NBC, mostly because people don't have any other choice so don't look for them to change anytime soon. A buddy of mine who lives in the UK and has been going to the events asked me how it is here. Honestly, with the feeds, it is the same as 2008. It hasn't changed since then really. I watched the games from China online and had the same problems.dazedconfused;1240783 wrote:with all of the events being available live online, its not really a big deal - just annoying. nbc needs to get all the kinks worked out of the live feed, though -
like_thatRio is only an hour ahead of us, so next Olympics (as well as world cup for us soccer fans) actually won't be that bad.

ha, they'll still tape delay the major events for prime time in the US. They aren't going to show gymnastics, swimming, etc live when they are in the morning or afternoon. Even with the only 1 hour delay.like_that;1240794 wrote:Rio is only an hour ahead of us, so next Olympics (as well as world cup for us soccer fans) actually won't be that bad. -

I just figured most of the marquee events occur during primetime.
If they tape delay a 1 hour difference they can go fuck themselves. -
tk421the schedule for London has the swimming finals mostly happening between 2:30-4:30 PM, gymnastics have been in the morning. If they have the same schedule for 2016, NBC will tape delay it because they get the best ratings after 8pm.

Swimming never actually happens in the afternoon, but usually early evening. Swim meets with 2 sessions a day are almost always set up as a morning/evening meet. Meaning swimmers get to the pool around 7 or 8AM, Swim from about 9AM-11:30. Then they go eat and sleep from 12-4 then head back to the pool for the evening session from 6-9.tk421;1240806 wrote:the schedule for London has the swimming finals mostly happening between 2:30-4:30 PM, gymnastics have been in the morning. The reason why the Beijing swimming wasn't tape delayed was because they flipped the morning and evening sessions as the prelims were in the evenings and finals in the mornings.
